    Odd soap additive purposes?

I don't see how something like palmitic acid would be in colored mica. Then again,I've only ever purchased things from TKB trading. They just use mica, oxides, ultramarines in every mica colorant I've ever seen.

    Safe FO's for a newbie

I think I'm going to attempt my first batch in December, since I'm getting supplies for X-mas. After I make a few plain batches of both CP and HP,to see which I like best, I want to play with dessert-smelling FO's. What are some good ones from Brambleberry and Southern Soapers that you have...

    Busy Soaping weekend!

The chocolate mint looks like a big hunk of chocolate mint fudge from a local place here! If the photo shows the color accurately, then I'd say the green is perfect. The last one is my second favorite!

    New Soaper,Need Experienced Opinions

I've lived in Arizona,Washington,Idaho, and Oregon...and I always see a healthy handful of soapers at each and every faire. I'd say it's been mainstream for quite some time now. With the wonderful invention of the internet, anyone can learn how to do something.

    SOAP SCUM

I live in Hippie-ville,and spritzing down your shower with diluted vinegar helps keep your shower looking nice between scrubbings. I have used several etsy brands and am not seeing the soap scum...

    New Soaper,Need Experienced Opinions

Oh I love TKB trading. I started making my own mineral makeup (strictly person use) and I have a few ultramarines, brick red oxide, black oxide, brown oxide, yellow oxide. They're a great company, and I'll definitely pick up a few basic POP colors next time I place an order with them! They have a...

    New Soaper,Need Experienced Opinions

Yeah,I have to give a lot of credit to people that can successfully churn out perfect soap logs most of the time and make a nice business out of it. I by no means think it's easy.I used to go with my father to craft fairs and he had quite a few struggling soaper friends. Heck,I may decide the...

    The science of ash

Would spraying the tops with alcohol and wiping them off with a terry cloth get rid of it,or do you need to actually discard that section of the soap?

    Fun Marketing!

There's a seller on etsy called steampunk bath that has some pretty interesting steampunk themed soaps as well! Her scents are to die for! After you're done with the soap, there's an embedded skeleton key. I turned mine into a necklace. I'm so happy steampunk is catching on.When I was...

    New Soaper,Need Experienced Opinions

Oh,yeah, definitely not rushing the business thing LOL! I plan on doing a few months of research before I even do my first batch. Right now I'm a bored housewife, but I'd like to remain a contributing member of the household down the road when my children don't need "Mommying". Making soap...

Is HP better for acne soap? And recipe recommendations?

Well,It's hard to argue what you just wrote. If you ask 100 different people what helped keep their acne under control, you may get 100 different answers. I mentioned acne.org not because of Dan's regimen, but because those forums are home to thousands of members that are experimenting with...

Is HP better for acne soap? And recipe recommendations?

Okay, while I don't have much experience with making bar soap,I can safely say I have tons of experience with acne. As you probably know,if the ph of a bar of soap is too high...well,it won't be a bar anymore. Acne has a large bacterial component involved. To inhibit bacteria, the skin is best...
