    HP shampoo bars

@DeeAnna, yes, I do think that is probably what they might be doing or just making the claim…it’s suspect to me for sure. They also had some ingredients in their bar that had me thinking of the effectiveness of those ingredients after saponification, such as panthenol. In any case, their site...

    Herbalism Kit?

Quite possibly! I’ll share this with her also. Thanks!

    Paper labels question

I don’t like card stock myself for my soap labels if I have to use a cigar band style. For my paper labels, I love a heavier paper like a 40-60#, which is much heavier than regular printer paper. I print my own on my HP laser.

    HP shampoo bars

I was just thinking about this topic the other day when someone asked me if I made shampoo bars and then they shared who they get theirs from and the listing said pH balanced but the ingredients looked like a HP/CP bar.

    Herbalism Kit?

Thanks, @DeeAnna. I will check out those ladies. I did want to go with something more reputable. I was also thinking a book and gift certificate would probably be the best way to go. I could probably get her some actual physical supplies like some jars/bottles and leave the herbs to her choosing.

    Herbalism Kit?

My BFF is getting into herbalism and wants to try her hand at tinctures and the like. I wanted to get something as a starter kit and figured I’d ask the trust forum! I recently got the Mountain Rose magazine and looked at their site but nothing comes across as a beginner’s kit. Anyone know of...

    Fun new labels

I love the sea horse one also!!

    Fun new labels

Yes! Shrink wrap also needed touched up and I had cotton bags but that banged the soap up. Boxes are great for display, traveling and protection!

    Fun new labels

Yes after years of watching people stick their noses right on the soap, I knew I had to find a different packaging solution! Lol

    Fun new labels

Since I’ve rebranded, I’ve been loving designing new labels. Not that the old design was terrible, just not as fun. For my summer soap line this year and some older labels for reference.

So I made my first mountain soap

Love the mountains! I've been thinking of making one with a river in the valley like my local landscape.

    Soap Boxes

I've never used any one over seas for printing services but I have heard it can be hit or miss. I've designed several kinds of boxes and packaging for clients. One used a local printer to them - Franklin Printing. For other packaging printing, I've used Uprinting and Sinalite. MOQs are always a...

    Replacing Palm Oil

I just was posting in another thread about olive oil and replacing with RBO. And yes, I'm in testing phase with it. The lather for my husband is more about how dense they are versus how big bubbly they are. I can't really explain it. He just knows how it feels different. Also, he is the one who...

    Avocado, Almond, Olive

I've started replacing olive oil with HO sunflower and rice bran oil because my base recipe is 40% olive and the cost is killing me! This is just in new soaps since my customers and husband can tell when I change the core soap line recipe. I can get sunflower local to me at a decent price than...

    Replacing Palm Oil

I've yet to formulate a no palm recipe that passes my husband's scrutiny but he's a lather lover. I buy other's palm free to compare and the ones I like have a lot of shea. If their labeling is correct, I assume it it is the most prominent base oil. He doesn't like the shea bars because he...

ENTRY THREAD for July 2024 SMF Challenge - Woodgrain Designs

I had the craziest result when I cut my bars! It’s like I had the top not gel and the bottom gelled because the top was more of a reddish color and the bottom was dark brown. The colorant I used was walnut hull powder in two different ratios and a blend of eucalyptus and cedarwood for my Mt...

    Insurance

We own two businesses and they are both LLCs where my husband and I equally own the businesses for the state registration, however for tax purposes we were considered a sole proprietorship. Our state (PA) is relatively inexpensive for filing the LLC at $125 for every 10 years. My husband...

    Shrink wrap out?

I haven't used shrink wrap in so long just because I had to handle the soap so much and melted quite a bit of them during shrink time. Also, the soap would get banged up in the shrink wrap and not look so nice. I use boxes now and have received many compliments on the packaging and the customers...
