What soapy thing have you done today?

The swirl you see is only on the surface. I drizzled uncolored and blue soap batter and swirled with a glass dowel rod. Inside is a hanger swirl.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made soap today! :swinging: Backstory: I'm living in Minneapolis for part of the year, miles away from my soapy stash. But due to the generous provision of @dibbles, along with several basic purchases, I've accumulated enough things to make a few batches. This one is scented with WSP's Sea...

New Soaps by The Emerald Chicken

It's been aeons since I posted more soap pics here. So...here comes a photo dump! Here are some batches from the past year. I listed the fragrance with each batch; all are from Bramble Berry. Anjou Pear (I think this fragrance smells like our local Hobby Lobby!) Spearmint Eucalyptus Believe...

Happy Steamed Soap Saturday! :swinging: I was getting these soaps ready to photograph. Maybe I will post some pics later.

    2lilboots soaps again

I haven't looked at this thread for a while, but I'm amused to see that you and my sister made soaps that nearly match! 😄 Hers is ginger ale scented, so somewhat citrusy.

What soapy thing have you done today?

It's Wet Soap Wednesday Textured Top Tuesday! This batch is my third in the past 24 hours and is fragranced with BB's Spearmint Eucalyptus. I'm pretty sure the mica morphed and that it'll change back to a bluer green.

    Amigurumi Duo the Owl

Anybody here use Duolingo for language learning? I finished this Duo the owl last evening. It's for a friend and is actually my second one. The first was for my sister who had declared that I was NOT to make her any amigurumis 😂

ENTRY THREAD May 2024 SMF Soap Challenge: Hanger Swirls!

My entry is fragranced with Serenity from BB. I poured a solid purple layer and gave it an opportunity to set up a bit before pouring a very light purple layer (looks white) interspersed with blue and purple. Then I carefully swirled using a real, bent hanger. It's hard to judge how far down to...

    Traveling with cp soap

I also use a plastic soap holder. If I'm staying at the same place for several nights, I let the holder sit open during the day to keep the bar from suffocating :) I haven't tried this yet, but @Blufuz explains a brilliant single-use soap idea here.

What soapy thing have you done today?

My soapy thing for today was learning that Bramble Berry has 20% off all fragrance oils through the 25th. You're welcome 😉

    Seventh Batch

Lovely colors! I added this to my bookmarks for future soapy inspiration.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Wet soap Wednesday 😎 It really doesn't look as nice anymore, having cracked while on the heating pad.

February 2024 SMF Challenge: Latte Art Designs (Pretty Soap Tops) ☕️

I think I'll have time today to squeeze in an attempt, but I'm waiting to sign up till it's actually made. I do have a question, though. The challenge guidelines state: "Although a slab mold is probably easiest for this technique, you may also use a loaf mold or plain cavity molds (round, oval...

How do you choose your color palettes?

One way I pick color palettes is by googling for pre-made palettes (e.g. "three color combination" or "four color palette"). This helps guide me toward palettes that actually look good design-wise. Here are a two examples of soaps that I based on online color palettes: Sometimes, especially...

    Ceramics Painting

I took a pottery class this fall with some coworkers and absolutely loved it. We spent more time wheel throwing than finishing, but we did get to try glazing in our last session. Here's a picture of some of our finished pieces (not all are mine).

old, new to me Christmas song

I learned this song a number of years back when my dad pulled out an old cassette tape and played it for my siblings and I. We all think it's great 😁 And I do occasionally hear it in radio Christmas mixes as well.

Can I CPOP the next day? Urgent question.

I'm terribly glad you asked this, @KiwiMoose. I recently wondered the same thing but didn't try to see if my loaf would still gel. @AliOop, you mentioned gelling on a heating pad after cutting. Do you know how long after cutting this would work? I'm assuming several weeks might be too long?

SMF November 2023 Challenge - Splash Swirl Technique

@Tammyfarms I love your not-actually-splash-swirl soap! I'd like to be able to make a batch like that on purpose ;)

Entry Thread for the SMF November 2023 Challenge - Splash Swirl Technique

I wasn't sold on the splash swirl to begin with, but I decided to try it since I was soaping anyway and needed design ideas. (That's one great thing about soap challenges—they give me incentive to branch out and try new techniques!) My soap is scented with one of my all-time favorite...
