I've just been experimenting with making lip balms and have a question about EOs. Can I use regular essential oils that I would use in soap making? The gal at the soap store said they should be organic to use on the lips. Is this a preference or a necessity? What do you do? Thanks. Syndi

Thanks for the info! What you described as ricing is exactly what happened. It kind of freaked me out. I just remelted and poured and it looks like it will turn out okay. I'd never heard of using the microwave....It worked really well. Thanks again. Syndi

I am a pretty new soaper and had my first batch with real problems last night. Everything was fine right up until it traced and I added Spirulina and a Sea moss FO. It instantly started to get lumps in it like gravy. I'm assuming the FO caused it to separate... I poured it into the mold...
