    Twelve dollar soap??

That's $12 CAD. Converted to US dollars is under $10. That is what I charge and have no problems selling. Although mine are larger and alot goes into the art of them. But I have seen them at the orchard down the road from my house priced at 12 US and they do sell. I think it's all about who your...

    Your thoughts on Tussah Silk?

I agree ! It definitely takes the choking smell away. I use a cotton ball size in every soap that I don't master batch my lye (I stopped doing this because I don't like it)

Three ingredient soap recipe- Avocado, coconut, cocoa

The coconut and Avocado bring me back to the topic of salt bars as I am so anxious about mine. As soon as I read the post I went directly into the kitchen and whipped up a batch. The recipe is 80% coconut 20% avocado at a 15% superfat and 50% salt added at trace. I wanted so badly to use aloe in...

Fast drying the moisture to protect the franance

I've been fighting this problem since I began soaping. I've tried to come up with ideas and it's become and obsession for me. I have and idea I plan to try next batch that I make. I have an endless supply of silica gel I recycle from work as I am always finding things I can repurpose and keep...

What Do You Like About Salt Bars?

I'm so glad I asked! (I almost didn't and I always leave place my batched in the oven for 24 hours for the perfect gel! It has a pilot light gas oven so it maintains about always). I live in michMich so setting it outside this time of year should do quiet nicely then? Thank you for your response!

What Do You Like About Salt Bars?

I was wondering what temp you recommend for salt bars? Does effect the batter if it's too warm?

Is there a thread with favorite online vendors

It really depends on what your shopping for. One company that comes to mind is paris fragrances. She has great quality of butters and about anything you could want and great prices on them. And she often ships the same day. I highly recommend her for these, however I would run far away from her...

Is it possible to make a soap like this? If so, how?

I bought some of these and a block fimo for this exact idea! I've held off but I'm so happy to see it works! Mine was to have just the impression on it and not fill with m&p and those are lovely.

    Is this DOS?

I also just read more into your post, noticed that it's only where the pink and black came into contact. So my thought, is it wouldn't be dos but again just a thought, but I wonder if the salt did the humectant thing and possibly leached the black oxide causing a color change. The thing that...

    Is this DOS?

What kind of salt was added? I've added sea salt (medium grain hoping for texture) to a black charcoal soap I make and it had a very odd effect over time. It wasn't orange, it actually did what salt does and absorbed moisture causing it to "cry" and as time went on and the air dried up it...

    OMG! It's been 6 months!

I feel like when I soap and not really in the mood, it never turns out the way I had hoped and that just further unmotivates me. I'm rather new here but the idea of doing a soap swap would be so fun! How does it work? See? Now I want to get up and soap!

    Flexible soap?

I wonder if it's the same as marshmallow soap? I've seen this but just sorta scrolled on by as it's not anything I was to interested in learning. I believe I seen it on YouTube.

    Kombucha Brewers

I've been making kombucha off and on for about 5 or 6 years. I started with milk kefir and progressed from that. I also ferment water kefir but don't have alot of success with that. However it's a much bigger hit with the rest of my family. They prefer the sweetness to it. I hold off in the...
