    First pull through soap

Those look great! I’ve only ever done one pull through soap before but you’re making me want to try it again!

    Liquid Soap Happiness

The polyacrylate is a rheology modifier...it helps to keep the formulation stable.

    Liquid Soap Happiness

How's the viscosity on this? ...gotta tell you...your pictures are a great advertisement for the book! lol

Just heard Nature's Garden has been bought out by WSP

I agree. I was having a LOT of trouble last year with them but much less lately....and I do love their FOs (despite the price).

    Nail Polish

Possibly…I am trying to stay around 5% total additional colorant and a small percentage of that is glitter…maybe 1% I am thinking that maybe it’s just the hex size to blame…and plan to try a much smaller glitter. I’ll get some pictures after Halloween. I have a specific polish I’m wearing...

    Nail Polish

Hi, long time no post! I've been mixing custom nail polish colors for a few weeks as a new hobby and I've noticed that some things like glitters are leaving the polish quite textured on dry down. I don't notice this effect with my favorite commercial nail polishes and was wondering if anyone...

    It’s been a while

It’s been a while since I’ve made soap and since I’ve been on the forum. Here’s what I’ve been working on. I’ve started to include aloe as half water replacement in all of my soaps. Black tea (Brambleberry) with green tea powder and activated charcoal Love Spell Dupe ( WSP)…. I hate how...

How do you gain the patience to master this craft?

Oh yeah, watching soap making videos is great for getting a soapy "fix", and scrolling IG or pinterest for inspiration!

How do you gain the patience to master this craft?

I'm not a patient person (I probably never will be)...I get really annoyed if I have to wait more than 12 hours to cut. Maybe my patience is just expended in other areas of my life 😂. So I do whatever I can to make it so that I can cut sooner. I use sodium lactate and I force gel (CPOP). My...

    Eucalyptus

Thank you! I think I'm going to combine techniques on the next one. I like the color of the new one, and I think it is closer to like a blue eucalyptus leaf, but I think an ITP swirl with maybe a mica oil swirl will be a nice touch.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Posted in the gallery. It was okay, I liked my last batch better.🤷‍♀️

    Eucalyptus

Here’s the cut of my Eucalyptus Soap. I included my favorite swirl… just a simple chopstick swirl. The heat transfer method seems to have worked! Third picture is of my eucalyptus soap from last time I made it. I think I like the old design better…

What soapy thing have you done today?

I did a total fly by the seat of my pants soap last night. I mean, I knew I had to make Eucalyptus soap for my event next month, and I knew the colors and the basics...but basically, I did an impromptu heat transfer method at like 11pm at night because I've been procrastinating too much on it...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Edit: It was humid outside yesterday, but I don't think it was humid in the room (eek...let you in on a secret, I haven't brought up my dehumidifier yet...but my air conditioner keeps it pretty dry) I don't know for sure inside what it was (I'll bring up the dehumidifier before my next batch so...

    Let's Talk Soap Frosting

I always just let my soap come to thick trace and pipe that. There's no way I'm making extra soap dishes for soap frosting (especially fiddly dishes like stand mixer whisks). Active time working is reduced as well. I recommend using a fragrance and a recipe that you know how it behaves so you...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Ugh....the mango bath bombs I planned didn't work out...so now I have mango bath dust. They were simultaneously activating slightly (warty) and crumbling...so I have no idea what was going on...just a weird day I guess.

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

I would highly recommend a double boiling melting pot like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Double-Melting-Chocolate-Capacity/dp/B01N2LVGH0?th=1 I have the 600 ml one and it's perfect for one of those 48 balm trays. Super easy to clean too!

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Made pineapple bath bombs for an event on Sat (actually pineapple scented llamas...I'm on a llama kick) . Need to make mango tonight and I'll be all set with no time to spare! A little nervous as I noticed warts on one of them last night but the rest seemed okay...so maybe it was just a mixing...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Lol...I didn't pay much attention to that! I just tried to get them all in the same collage. Update to the serum making: I ran out of my first batch (I was really slathering it on...I mean it is pretty economical compared to some of the stuff I was buying so...) I made another with all of...
