    well I finally got a chance to soap the mandarin plum FO ... I like it but it doesn't smell quite like I thought it would... the fruity sweet aroma of ripe plums definitely comes through but not detecting much if any of a citrus scent... maybe my sniffer is off?     A few of my latest soaps

    those were done with frozen raw milk and hand mixed... no stick blender... at very cool temps and left uninsulated... I have noticed a difference in color when using raw instead of pasteurized .. also hand mixing (which takes forever) seems to make a difference too.... will have to play...

    First Batch ~ Miserable failure?

    I really like the odd shapes it came out...just say..Why YES!!! its supposed to look like that... call it one of a kind artistic design... no two soaps look alike :) actually I use the pringles cans for RTCP goat milk soap... they actually do work nicely BUT... don't insulate it... don't cap...

    what methods are used to avoid ash? someone said they use 90% alcohol but will regular rubbing alcohol work and if so...when should you use it? as soon as it is in the mold... after is has set.. when you cut it into bars? and how... ie spray, rub etc?

    I covered the top with a piece of plastic wrap... smoothed it down onto the soap then lifted it and re-covered it so it was lightly touching ... gives it a smooth yet textured look
