The face mist sounds great! I usually hate moisturizing my face because it always feels yucky and my phone/pillow gets greasy, etc. I have jojoba, argon, cocoa/Shea/mango butter, buckthorn extract, castor/olive oil/almond oil. I’m willing to buy some more stuff if needed.

Whenever we watch her or Ophelia my 3 year old says “God mom, she’s so messy!”. Thankfully he’s never around to see me make soap (for the obvious safety reasons... but also the apparent harsh judgement).

I just started using differin (yay adult acne) and I’m wondering if anyone has any recipe recommendations to combat the awful, awful dryness.

If you need to practice making even mica lines practice by sprinkling even layers of sugar on cinnamon toast before you pop it under the broiler :dance: But seriously. It’s good practice.

I’d be curious if it works better on soap that’s fully cured or a few weeks out. The biggest problem I can imagine would be if you did mani at once the metal might heat up enough to cause some melting but ‍♀️

Refidgerating won’t do much of a difference as long as it’s sealed. The longer it’s exposed to air the more time it has to absorb carbon dioxide. If you don’t want your soaps to gel for whatever reason you can pop them in the fridge through and that should help with ashing too. My theory of...

What kind of water are you using? If you have acidic water then your soap will ash no matter what you do to it. Also if you’re distilled water is old, or if it’s been left out. Distilled water reacts faster with the atmospheric carbon dioxide to create carbonic acid, which reacts with the lye...

Where are buying your lye?

So just to be clear right you’re no longer using water as % of oils and are currently using a 33% lye concentration?

What is your lye ratio?

I’m about to make my biannual base oil buy... my cart in Soaper’s Choice is about $300 less than Bulk Apothecary (shipping is over $100 cheaper). Does anyone have any experience with soapers choice? How is the quality ?

I thought that the slab was rotated as well but after watching a few videos today I think that @dibbles is right, it’s just the layering.
