Hi, i have been making Lotties Dog Shampoo from Humblebee. The first bar wouldn’t adjust for me with “a couple of drops” of citric 1:1 solution so i did a dump and the pH went down to 5. My second attempt i was careful and even after 14 drops of citric solution i could inly get it down to 7.2...

I think piggy smell is really about the person. I can smell piggy when i use lard, and when i asked some friends they said all they could smell was “clean”.

No no don’t give up on the deo idea. You may think it’s more expensive but while you are formulating you are still using the deo you make 😊

Ok will give it a go…thanks @DeeAnna please explain what lowering or raising lye % means. If you use a higher % per calculator i always thought it was to use up all the oils in a timely fashion. If you use less % does this mot mean that there will be more oils left and therefore higher superfat?

Ever since Soapee calculator became unavailable i have been at a loss in what to use. I recently switched to Soapmakers Friend and it’s ok but not my favorite
