I went ahead and made some yesterday with the 4 butters + 3 oils, since there were no replies at that time and I needed to get it made. It turned out well. Consistency was good.

Can one use too many different butters and oils? Most recipes that I have seen use 2-3 butters at most with 1 oil. Would it be alright to combine more butters and oils? Only problem is...I would not know how to predict the hardness with 3-4 different butters. I am considering using...

Thx, Spice! I would think that the saran wrap would be just as air-tight as shrink wrap....will not allow it to breathe. I have not tried the bands, but I cut down a shrink wrap bag to simulate a wrap and it did not do well at all!!! It just curled up away from the ends of the soap!!

Thx, Spice! How do you seal it? What does the back look like? I learned that goat milk soap cannot be shrink-wrapped. I was told by "National Shrink Wrap" that it will go rancid without air circulation...that it is best to use perforated shrink wrap. Now, I understand why I have seen so...

I did tell him that I had been discussing this on a forum and that many were calling it "false advertising" and that it would not look good for them to keep this page as is.
