Thanks, all. Zero effect on the septic system. The only issues I’ve ever had with ours, and I’ve had a septic system all of my life, was using powdered Tide (the fillers and clays just clump up and don’t break down so eventually block up the system), and girls flushing sanitary products down...

Yay! And thank you guys for committing the time that goes into this. I’m sure we all have no idea how much you really give of yourselves for us to be able to enjoy these challenges.

Thanks, everyone....it’s a place to start, anyway! toxikon, I used just a titch of brown oxide in the base and then added a small amount of “organic vanilla bean specks” that I got from Saffire Blue. They were not even remotely scratchy in my test bar. I think I had about a cup and a half of...

I made my first beach soap after being inspired by toxikon’s earlier post about additives to make soap look like sand. Not all too happy with my sky (too dark and too much white), but very happy with my water and sand!

I, too, am very appreciative of the work that goes into putting on these challenges. It does not go unnoticed. Thank you, challenge hosts, for all you do!

I gel everything, and since I started using Carrie’s TD, I very rarely get glycerin rivers in my white anymore.

Today was laundry soap production day. I had to get done with the have-tos in order to get to the want-tos. With a new challenge coming out soon, I needed to free up some time!

My soap dough that I made in January had no colorants at all. The plain white is easy for me to work with. I made Bee's recipe and my own...both were great. I couldn't get the color saturation that I wanted by trying to mix micas with the white dough, so I made another batch and colored it...

I can’t wait for the first of every month for a new challenge! Every other month would seem awfully long to me.

My less-than-artistic impression of myself was totally validated by soap dough, but I’m entering anyway because, darn it, I did it. This was inspired by my need for warm weather while looking outside at my hip high snowbanks. My sad little poppies made me happy, though.....until my hilarious...
