    Hmm Lesson Learned - again (I think)

    You are right. Buttermilk is the leftover liquid from churning cream into butter. It's like 1% milkfat, and tastes a little sour. It's isn't really more processed, maybe pasteurized again after it's drained off the butter. I work in a farmstead diary plant, and we just dump our buttermilk...

    I was lucky enough to pick up some glass milk bottles today for FREE! :D I think they would make wonderful Christmas gifts if I filled them with milk bath ingredients. I was thinking, dry milk, sea salt, oatmeal, and some dried herbs. Any suggestions or warnings for this endeavor...

    I've never made soap before, but I am hooked and can't wait to try it out. I just bought some supplies today - big stainless steel kettles, a candy thermometer, and long gloves. I still need a few more things. I'm off to read the forums....
