Okay, how do I learn to make recipes?

I find MMS a great site which is how I made my recipes....work out the ingredients you want to use in your soaps....like Coconut oil, Olive Oil, Palm kernel oil from a sustainable source, then there is corn oil, sunflower oil canola oil hemp oil sweet almond oil etc etc etc but these last ones...

    another milk soap question

Thankyou...there is no secret :) frozen goats milk and clear oils aka CO, PKO, PO and Light OO....if I add Sweet Almond oil it is more a beige. If your cows milk had lots of cream in it, then that might be why it burnt. Try seperating the milk, if you have or can get hold of a seperater, and...

    Pic request of bubbles

Really? That is very interesting....no-one I know makes their soap with lard or tallow....in this day and age with everyone watching what goes in their mouths in the trans fats etc they are very mindful of what goes on their skin....in what form is your lard and tallow....do you render down the...

    another milk soap question

I think powdered Goats milk is different to Fresh/Frozen goats milk. I wrap my GM soaps and I get white...no lard.

    another milk soap question

This is really interesting...I always gel my goats milk soap and it is always white....I think what turns your GM soap dark is the lard burning.

    Questions about gel and timing!

Congrats on your first soap... With all that Olive Oil it will be a soft soap so I would leave it as long as you can in the mold. ETA oh and I cant see your pic its just a little square. :(

    Pic request of bubbles

The only animal fats I use are in my goats milk I use for my soaps....the fact we dont use lard I think is just the difference in each of our lifestyles....I think you have more Homesteaders/off grid/self sufficient/homeschoolers/hunters etc. than we do. Soap makers in general live in suburbia...

    Issues when cutting soap

I am interested in the replies you get as I often get a small area specially in the middle cakes of my wooden log mould. But I think I read in somewhere on here about not wrapping the soap from the get go so it doesnt get too hot and can do its job better....do you find yours happens more in...

    Pic request of bubbles

I am not meaning to be teaching you but I am here to learn :) and from what I have experienced here in Oz we dont use "lard" in our soaps 99% of us use Oils....and when I have used soaps from many of my American net friends I dont get the bubble numbers I do with just oils. 8-)

    Pic request of bubbles

I use coconut oil and Sustainable Palm oil in all my recipes and get lots of bubbles...I hate soap with hardly any bubbles :)

    Pic request of bubbles

Dont the bubbles numbers change depending on what oil you click on....for instance Coconut oil bubble number 67 which means LOTS of bubbles. Sweet almond oil .... 0 no bubbles. So as long as the soap has Coconut oil in it you will get lots of bubbles. Is this what you mean?
