Shunt covered it nicely so I have nothing else to add.

Beer soaps, super hoppy beer aroma?!

I like using the spent grain/hops used for making the beer for an exfoliate.

log style vs. individual bar molds

I think they both have their place. You can do things with each that the other can't do.

log style vs. individual bar molds

It is really easy to cut a log with a wire cutter and not worrying about trying to get the soap out cleanly. Plus gelled soap is easier to pull out.

    For the Beekeepers

Okay that is cool! Depending on the cost I would love to have one.

XXX Milk Powder or XXX Milk?

Label it as Goat Milk because you will have water in there which reconstitutes the milk.

    Quality, natural lotion base?

You can drop the stearic straight out without changing anything because with the Stearic that is going to be one thick lotion, more like a light cream which would be hard to go through a lotion pump. I would drop the ewax to 11 grams though and see if you like the consistency because with the...

    Hot process soap problem maybe????

It should be just fine. As for your clay, we usually use kaolin or bentonite clays. You want one a clay as fine as possible.

    Quality, natural lotion base?

You don't need stearic acid in lotion as long as you use 5% emulsifying wax.

    A Cream Soap Tutorial

I find all soap lathers better at warmer temperatures. I find that cream soap does not give you big bubbles unless you add a surfactant and even then you will find that the lather ends up being more creamy than big bubbles but it would start out with the first bubbles being bigger due to the...

Glycerin as by-product of soap making

I really don't know. I don't know if it is in his book or one of his writings. In all fairness it may have come from somewhere else but it seems to me to be Dunn. I'll try to backtrack and find that. AND I could even be wrong - I know that would be rather shocking, but it could happen.:lolno...

Glycerin as by-product of soap making

Thank you Coffeetime. As for the water percentage once cured I think I read it in something Dunn wrote, but I would have to backtrack to get that information again. I did learn something new today. If you are using EU Trivial names then they need to be bilingual.

    A Cream Soap Tutorial

The glycerin is adding a conditioning agent to the cream soap without diminishing the lather to the same degree as that amount of oil would. The stearic acid is truly the backbone of cream soap so you don't want to eliminate it in the recipe. Play with the percentages to see if you find a level...

    EO's and Eo's

Totally agree. I too am an aromatherapist and I find that the oils I get from NDA or most of the other soap suppliers to be of the same grade as my expensive supplier. Anyone claiming their oils are therapeutic either don't know what they are talking about, which would worry me. Then there...

Glycerin as by-product of soap making

Coffeetime, the Guild is going with it being listed as best practices. I spoke to HC and they said anything that is present in the finished product including what is a by-product from the process should be listed on your labels.. I asked specifically about the glycerin that is produced and...

    A Cream Soap Tutorial

LOL Yeah depending on what I'm making and what the end use is I will do a 20% superfat for the conditioning and it creates a nice creamy lather. I've got some I need to check on that is 4 years old. That is going to be some amazing soap.
