Cream Soap & Liquid Soap are very different animals. You would use Boric Acid to neutralize LS because you're doing it at 0% SF or lower.

2 very different ingredients with different properties. I wouldn't sub them for each other. Cream soap is based on stearic acid and from there you choose your oils depending on what properties you want to bring to the soap.

I haven't found anything, but then I have tried. Whipped soap is a different product and this was always meant to be more of a creamy style soap.

Pretty much but if you add botanicals or dairy products you will need to find a preservative that will work in the high pH.

Kokum has a higher melt point as well plus it has a drier feel than other butters.

With a cream I would also recommend that you look at BMTS - 50 as it is a more conditioning emulsifier and also add 2% stearic acid to get a nice thick cream. I would reduce the water to 60% and up the Emulsifier to 7%. It really depends on thick you want your cream.

I fourth or whatever the no lye fumes at that point. When you mix your lye you will see steam coming off the mixture, that contains the lye fumes.

According to a Safety Assessor (Scott of Cosmetic Safety Assessment) you don't need a preservative for any soap product because the pH is too high to make a friendly environment to mold or bacteria. Yes bacteria lives everywhere, including on us, but the bad type in our products does not live...

Just a quick note on Deeanna posts. Although you can whip this soap it does not have the structure to hold that whip and will quickly flatten back down. I do "whip" mine with a dough hook prior to putting it to bed if I am doing a small batch. If I am doing a large one then I use a paint...

SwiftCraftyMonkey (Susan Barclay-Nichols) does not recommend using the microwave to melt your ingredients but rather to do it stove-top. Once it's melted you can go into the oven.

I think it depends on your State as to the regulations. Here in Canada Deer Skin is sold in stores as is Reindeer, Bison & a few others..... It is also not on our Hot List for prohibited ingredients.
