    Expensive this is!

Well the cool thing is once you have some things you don't have to keep buying them, like your molds, bowls, that kind of stuff. You can look for a Cash and Carry in your area (restaurant supply) for some things too, they usually have a good price on your oils. I used to go in on some packaging...

    Bulk lye purchase?

I also get it at a chemical house, right now it's $56 for a 50# bag. I think you can also try places that use lye for food making sich as olives and I have also heard pool supplies as well. I hope you can find someone local, that shipping will get ya!

    Canopy/Awning for shows

Here's a tip to those with tents that have a center support; you can loosen the corner of the tarp, then get under the tent and push up until one of the corners "clicks", once you have one corner the others are easy peasy. You'll be able to do the tent by yourself pretty easily that way. The...

    Am I doing something wrong?

I think it's a way easier way of doing it. Plus it gives you an extra chance to add it later if you forget to do it earlier! :) Some things by the way, will just be obnoxious and accelerate a bit anyhow, florals are notorious for that.

    better packaging ideas???

I don't use it, but I hear there's also this kind of bio-film that you can use that's biodegradable and you can smell through it. I know my customers are very concerned about the environment, that may be another option for you.

    Canopy/Awning for shows

The only bad thing to keep in mind when you're using all your walls, is that in crazy wind, it can act as a sail and take your tent with it, scoot it around at least! You'll find a ton of different kinds of tents, it's amazing how many there are now, when I bought my trusty Caravan 12 years ago...

    My First Soap!

Great job! Can't wait to see the cut pix! With clean up there are a couple schools of thought, some folks let everything sit for 24 hours and then you have instant soap to clean up! Or, what I do is scrape out as much as I can and then use those thicker blue paper towels (they have them in the...

A little PO'd at Bramble Berry right now!

You can actually do some very cool creative things with the over colored soap. You can slice it and put it in other soap, sorry I don't have a better example but if you look for "Planet" soaps, you may see what I mean. Everything is a learning experience, now that you know you'll just move on...

Soap has a large crack down the middle. Help!

As you see from the excellent onformation provided, there are so many variables for every batch! Some folks, especially in the begining take very copious notes for that very reason so you can look back later and try to figure out of there's a pattern for whatever is causing problems. I use milk...

    Tips and tricks, post yours?

Great tips you guys, keep 'em coming! Here's another thing I recently discovered, those thicker blue paper towels, they sell them in the automotive section, work really well. Much thicker than regular paper towels!

    Tips and tricks, post yours?

I always enjoy learning from others what things they do to make life easier! I know I have seen so many threads on this through the years, I was thinking it would be nice to start one for the folks that are newer to our addiction. Heres one to start us off: When I'm am separating my solid oils...

    Advertising your web page

You can also advertise on blogs, try and find one where you think your target audience will be, that's key of course. You may be able to do guest posts for some blogs too. You can also Twitter/Facebook. You can look for other forums and make comments on those, for other interests you have, it's...

    So excited!!!

I love that you'll get to be with folks from your own "tribe", you'll have a blast! I got to go to a seminar for "creatives" in San Francisco a couple of years ago and I wish I could live that day over again! I hope you enjoy your event as much!
