In my experience the scent of essential oils and not fragrance oils may linger on your hands after use.

Do you think it is okay to use citric acid and sodium lactate together?

If you can get your hands on tallow that’s another great alternative to palm.

Yes, even L’Occitane’s rose soap smells NOTHING like roses! It’s off putting to me, in fact.

In rendering tallow I know vinegar is used to clean the tallow so it’s less stinky. Perhaps that’s the role of ammonia in her grandma’s recipe?
