Hi! Its a little stupid question, but i would like to know if there is a way to find out that the soap we purchase is actually CP made from scratch or just m&p soap base mixed with colors,fragrance,etc.. i make both type of soaps,but when i see soaps from other sellers it is really hard to tell...

Hey susie! I was in a hurry to make soap,i just used 103 g of KOH.. but now i wonder how did we get it? I mean,i used the formula given by DeeAnna, and it came out to be around 121g.. then how did we get 103g,if we calculate manually? Is it like 3% of 500g= 15.. so 121g-15g= 103g of KOH? And...

Hey i tried it today..it was foaming well. Here is my before n after pics of using shampoo..i applied oil in my hair at night and washed off in the morning..i am happy with everything but thickness of the shampoo.

Thanx all for your reply. I used the same recipe with 103 g of KOH(85% pure)..i added 200g water and 100g glycerin.. it took a long time to come to trace..then i cooked for around two hours till it turned vaseline like,amber colored..i diluted it with 75% water,but it formed a film on top after...

I bought potassium hydroxide that mentions- Minimum assay(acidimetric) - 85% Maximum limits of impurities Carbonate (K2CO3) - 2.0% Chloride (CI) - 0.03% Sulphate (SO4) - 0.02% How should i calculate it in any recipe using this KOH?

Yes IrishLass, i diluted with 75% water..i used your recipe of 65% olive, 25% coconut, 10% castor.. and the above mentioned recipe..i have to use a lot of these liquid soaps to make my hair clean.. Susie, i apply oil at night, then wash it the next morning.. or else my hair would get too...

What is CP liquid soap?

Is e-wax conditioning? Will it not be thick in a conditioner?

Only these things are available- cetyl alcohol, butylene glycol, ceto stearyl alchohol, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide, emulsifying wax and guar gum.

I have tried a fourth batch, using this recipe- Coconut oil-30% Canola oil-20% Castor oil-10% Olive oil-30% Sunflower oil-10% This fourth time too i did not see any flying bubbles.:( I mix lye with glycerin..bring to boil..add it to warm oils...keep mixing with whisk.. it turns to slightly...

Hey seven, i am Waiting for results.. i dont dare to do this experiment, i just made three liquid soaps,with two failed..i have no idea when to add vinegar.

I also tried cider vinegar in this batch..buttermilk and a little less than half vinegar..it reached trace immediately when i added lye solution to fats,and got very thick to pour..other than this,everything was same as batches without vinegar..and fast trace might be due to my recipe. it...
