    DeeAnna, do you know what the superfat in cold process soap consists of? Would it be mostly some whole triglycerides, or every oil gets broken into free fatty acids during the saponification process?

    Thanks everybody! :) Sorry Cindy I missed your question. For my salt bars I use 33% lye solution (about 1:2 ratio of lye to water), it gives me enough time to play with colors/swirls.

    Can I use styrofoam cups for swirling?

Usually I use HDPE cups for swirling but I am tired of cleaning them up. :evil: I've seen many tutorials where people use those disposable plastic cups, and they add their scent to the oils at the very beginning, and seem to do it regularly without having any...

    Does NaOH react with styrofoam (polystyrene)? My quick search indicates it does not.

    I love salt bars! :smile: This soap is scented with Sweet Cake's Snow place like home FO. I used 8 different colors of mica to swirl with.
