    Almond Soap

    I used almonds in my soap and have not had a problem. I put them in the food processor and grind them up to almost powder and they are wonderful.

    Need ideas for designing the ultimate soap room

    I don't have chrome shelves and I am not sure that it makes a big difference but I have a 5 tier shelf what I purchased at Lowe's for about $40.00. I have two of them in my soap room and they are pretty deep so they hold about 36 bars on each shelf.

    Do you soap with castor? Opinions needed.

    I use castor oil and kosher salt in all of my soaps. Both are relatively cheap and adds great suds and hardness.

    Bar size

    My bars are rather large, they are about 6oz. I have a mold that makes 18 individual bars so once I take them out of the mold, they cure individually. I am thinking of reducing the size for people with smaller hands.

    I made soap this morning and reduced my water by 6 oz so that I could add Goat's milk at trace......but of course after I put everything in the mold and in the oven, I turned around to see my goat's milk sitting on the counter. Is my soap going to be Lye heavy now?

    soap pot weekend 4/1-4/3

    I am headed out of town this weekend so I am starting tonight with my soaping. I have a plan to make my apricot soap....working with soapcalc now to determine which oils I want to use. Decided to use paprika to color it, lets hope this turns out pretty!
