I know none of you have ever done this.

Unmolded and cut it today. Here it is. I feel like it needs a caption, "Sure I'm pretty, but I don't smell good. " Dang it. http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee4 ... ited-1.jpg

    Bad day

I made a beautiful soap today and after I had it in the mold and set in the freezer for about an hour, I found the Fragrance Oil on the counter. So a few hours later I made a batch of lotion, and when testing it, I found that there was a little bit of grit in it. I am thinking that the stearic...

    My First Rebatch! *sniff*

I have done it while I am making more soap. I just cut up all that soap that didn't turn out, and put it on high in the crock pot with a little water. Then I watch it and stir it every time I walk by it. I usually add a little of the soap I am currently making if the scents will compliment and...

I know none of you have ever done this.

Today was my soaping day. I decided to make some soaps that smell like flowers I miss, because they don't grow in Montana. So my first one was Jasmine, second Wisteria, and today was Freesia day. I did a 2 color IPS, and it turned out pretty nice. I put it in the freezer to prevent gel one hour...

Your soap looks great I hope it turns out for you. I HATE PARTIAL GEL!!!!!! I made a sandalwood soap for my mom for Mother's Day. I did my normal put the mold in the fridge while making the soap, and put the soap in the fridge for 3 hours after I make it. Well I go to cut it 2 days later and...

    High OO cure

Thanks JackiK, I did put TD in the white part of that soap. I bet that is it, good to know. Also, I love your Yorkie avatar. I notice a lot of us have dog avatars. I have 2 leonbergers and a tricolor corgi, who looks like my avatar.

WSP is $3.23 for 16 oz of Castor Oil. Plus free shipping if you include it in a $30 order. I haven't found it anywhere in my area or that ships to my area that cheap. I am in Montana, not a lot of different places to shop here.

Picture of three of my soaps

Thanks guys. I have been soaping about 6 months, and I finally get things to come out how I wanted on a consistent basis. It is great fun, trying out recipes. I only soap one day a week so I am trying to figure out what to try this week. So many soaps, so little time.

Picture of three of my soaps

The one on the left is a bastile, with green IPS and jasmine scent, I call it, Jazzy Jasmine.. The middle is a coconut milk and coconut oil soap, I made a lime scented and colored log out of clear melt and pour soap and laid it into the mold after I poured a little of the CP soap into it, then...

    Egg yolk soap

Here it is The egg yolk soap that turned an awful green and was stinky. I turned out kind of nice. I haven't used it yet it is too young. What do you think? I like them the way they are, they have kind of an asian feel to them, my husband thinks that I should trim them up. So here is a picture...

    Resizing your photos

Very pretty. Are you calling the soap "Daydreams of Vicki"? I just lost a dear friend to leukemia at the age of 48. I was thinking of doing a soap that reminded me of her.

    High OO cure

I did an 80 % OO, 10 CO, 10 PO, and did a CPOP it is four weeks old now and really hard. I started using a bar this week and it is really nice. 2 weeks ago I tried an 80 OO, 18 CO, and 2 Castor, to try and get away from PO. I did a straight CP. My first batch was a no color, no scent batch, it...

Next weeks soap and possible dog shampoo bar

I am going to CP it. I have been talking to my dog club friends and my vet to try to come up with a dog soap. It needs to be low on cleansing and high on conditioning for their skin. EOs are touchy with dogs that is why I have them so low. The insects should still be able to smell them even if...

They are not cheap for melt and pour soap, but they are the cheapest for bottles and jars. You will need tops for those bottles also, so that may get your price up. I have found them the cheapest for castor oil too. So if I need to get it to the $30, I buy more castor oil.

    making your own essential oils

I have a large vegetable garden, and I too am changing a lot of it for flowers and herbs for my soaps, with this years planting. I have not distilled EOs, but I have been doing some infused oils with herbs, that have worked pretty well. I have a small crock pot and I fill it with fresh herbs...

    Lye burns

Did you rinse your skin off really well? How is it feeling now? It is probably just irritation from the soap, if it is not really burning. I have had a couple of very small lye burns, and they were tiny blisters immediately. The experience does teach you to be careful. I think that yes, you...

Next weeks soap and possible dog shampoo bar

I am going to try this soap next week, and thinking of using it as a dog shampoo bar, for my 3 dogs. I have been doing a lot of research and I have read that you need to reduce the cleansing, increase the conditioning, and have sufficient lather for a good dog shampoo. So this is what I came...

Chance to Brag about your Packaging

I thought that you shouldn't put CP soap in plastic, so I have been putting paper cigar bands around mine. I put a sticker on the front with the name of the soap, and a sticker on the back listing the ingredients, and giving my email address. I am cutting the cigar bands out of pretty...
