    Waiting Patiently

Where do you get your soap wraps printed? I have Dan's shrink bands, but I am not crazy about them and they aren't biodegradable. I think paper is more environmentally friendly.

    cloudy olive oil

It didn't affect the quality of the soap, just looked hideous.

How I make my freezer paper liner for my box

I do the two piece liner, too. I tried contact paper, but couldn't get a decent crease.

    cloudy olive oil

I had the same thing happen with a batch from WalMart. It looks disgusting, but I don't think it made a bit of difference to my batches. I used it all. It is just ugly.

    EO Frangance in Soap

Now I know why I like Tide so much and to that end, Patch is known to be a great deodorizer, so that may be why Tide works so well. Now I might not mind spending a bit more for Tide...things that make you go hmmmm.

Bad Batch?? How do you know?

Yes, your batch will probably have at least brown mint leaves in it. The lye monster takes everything it can and turns it brown. There is no magic to preventing it, either. Good luck with your batch.

Opinions on Shrink Wrapping CP Soap

Does anyone know if Dan's Shrink Wrap bands from MMS are regular shrink wrap or polyolefin??? I can't figure it out from the site and though I could write to them, I figure the soapers here have used the enough that maybe someone knows.

    Robin's eggs

Thank you for the tip on the UM blue. I have that and just didn't know if it would be the right one or how much to use. I don't want to make a bunch of hit or miss batches if not necessary. I will use a high olive oil soap and that should end up coming out pretty white with the use of a little TD.

    Robin's eggs

One of my husband's co-workers has requested I make robin's egg soap her her to use for baby shower gifts. SHe plans on putting them in a small nest at each table setting. Anywho... 1. Has anyone done this and if so, what mold did you use? At first, I though of using jell-o jigglers mold...

    Gardener's soap

I know I have seen this in the various forums I have been in, but for the life of me, I cannot find a single post regarding recipes for a good gardener's soap. I would think the following properties would be important: 1. antibacterial using something like tea-tree ore similar 2. scrubby...

    Palm Kernel Question

I would think that if you have an ounce of PKO flakes, you will have an ounce of liquid PKO when melted. I could be wrong, but seems to me that the only state that changes is the solid to liquid. I use PKO all the time and don't need to make any adjustments.

    Looking for Crothix

I have decided that before I resort to paying a major company for things I will check here first to see if someone wants to shed of certain ingredients. I am looking for crothix. I have all the rest to make liquid shampoo and want to try it. I know we go through phases where we try stuff and...

    A really dumb newbie question

I love stainless steel (true stainless, that is) as it is very durable, doesn't react with lye and cleans up better than anything plastic IMHO.

    Bubble bath bar recipe?

I may sound dense here, but it's due to no experience with a bubble bar. I have ingredients I need to use up from a purchase a while back and have everything I would need to make bubble bars. My question is this..is this like a bath bomb in the way you use it? How do you use a bubble bar?

    OMG Help!!!

I usually get my lye from AAA Chemicals in Texas and they are very inexpensive and quick delivery. The problem I am having is that lately, all my unopened bottles of lye are clumping. I have them stored in a dry/dark place where the dehumidifier runs and theyhave never been exposed to moisture...

I found some stuff on LotionCrafters called Aromafix. It says it can be used in bar soaps as well as other lotions, etc. Here is the info: Has anyone used this?

    Shrink Wrapped CP

I looked at National and got scared at the cost. How much soap do you figure you could wrap with that amount? Also, is there a product name/guage/ordering number so I could get the same thing from them. I know not everyone has tiny holes in their polyolefin. I planned on trying my food sealer...

    Shrink Wrapped CP

Where do you get your perforated polyolefin from and isn't it a bit cost-prohibitive? Also, is it necessary to have the fancy cutter for it or is it ok to cut with scissors and use a heat gun that way?
