What do u mean when the temp lowers, it gets worse? Does the lye water get more chunckies?

I did two batches of GM soaps last week, I used canned GM and aloe vera juice. Also, I added some orange peel powder for coloring.

I am just wondering that the Lye I usually buy from Aces Hardware, are they technical grade or food grade?
