    Coffee soap

I made a small batch of Turkish coffee soap a few months back and it has no scent, no stale smell and is quite hard. The lather is incredible and it's one of my favourite soaps.

    Fireball whiskey soap?

Not sure if the scent would survive saponification, except maybe the cinnamon. Would be interesting, for sure. You still have to boil the alcohol out before adding it though.

    Soap seized! Ugh!

You can cut it up and HP it to see if you can save it. I doubt it was the zest and most likely the FO.

Well aren't those lovely! Very nice!

Having fun experimenting... Cinnamon vanilla chai, avacado and Reece's!

I quite like the look of the avocado one, tbh. I prefer the gelled look and think they turned out beautifully. Give them time to cure and I'll bet with the added avocado it will turn out to be lovely soap. I just made a vanilla chai myself (still in the mold). I've been experimenting with...

Re-batching HP soap stays soft longer

LOL Jean I was thinking of you and your 'series of unfortunate events'.

Re-batching HP soap stays soft longer

I can't answer your question but I believe there is a soap goblin that has been making its way around the forum messing with our tried and true recipes and methods. I think you've acquired it this time. ;) I know my rebatches are always softer because I add water to smoothen them out, but...

    beeswax in soap ?

I've tried it. Your soap won't ash and it makes it a bit harder.

    What about Safflower Oil?

If it's high oleic it will say so (or should). I have a bottle of high oleic safflower oil and it soaps nicely. I find that sunflower/safflower soaps make a gentle soap, excellent for the face or sensitive skin. The only downfall is that the bars are softer. Use additives to make it harder but...

    Love spell

Those are lovely! I am going to have to try aloe vera juice.

Poll: Which soap should I submit to the contest?

They're both beautiful...but I had to pick the lilac one. Good luck!

Nice lovely white soap, and the scent is wonderful. Good job!

    Soaps from Etsy

I have cats that shed fur that sometimes gets on my soap so I can appreciate how it might have gotten there. I would never sell something with any hair on it, especially soap. A full inspection should have been done prior to sending that off and I would waste no time letting the seller know what...

    My hot sauce addiction

DH is a huge sucker for all sauces suicidal and nuclear. The ornamental pepper plant reminded me of one I had before we were married. I dared him to eat one because he kept bragging about how he could eat anything hot. I don't think I have ever seen sweat pour so much and so quickly out of...

    2nd and 3rd batches!

I like your gardener soap! The scents sound heavenly. You're on your way to making many, many more batches now. :D

    My Very First Show

I think that's wonderful! I'm glad you had a great first experience.

    lemon peel in soap?

Yes, I was hoping for one as well. I've seen videos where people add lemon juice to lower the ph, and zest for exfoliating but never the whole thing. I guess the closest thing you can go for is lemon EO or FO with something to try to anchor the scent.

    Ugly brown stuff-share your uglies

I don't think either one of them look bad. Jennee, you can always trim the tops, bevel the sides and you've got something completely different than what you started with. Obsidian, the coffee scent will fade and unless you added cocoa or vanilla you might find that your soap will lighten over...
