im curious where i can find oils for soap making in bulk? I'm just getting into soap making but i am spending too much money going to walmart and getting what i need to make batches of soap. where do you get your oils for soap making? I would like to start getting things in bulk so i can save...

Here is a couple pics of the hot process soap i made last night. its sage and citrus fragrance with some sage powder and lemon grass added. i tried using some green liquid dye but it was supposed to be for melt and pour soaps so it did not make it a very green color. the soap consists of water...

can any soap recipe be used for hot process soap making? I'm new to making soap. i have only made cold process soap. so can i use any recipe for hp as for cp? i'm just curious because i want to out hp soap making

im just working on a batch of olive oil soap. ive only made cp soap a couple times and i didnt have anything to do today so i figured i would try my hand at some plain olive oil soap

thanks. i already do have a scale for measuring wax to make candles....its not a digital one but it is very accurate.

thank you! i wasnt sure what ii was doing wrong...it just seemed like a very simple soap recipe and since i am new at this i was going for something easy. but i will try it with the weight measurements and see if i get better results!

i just made my second batch of cold process soap yesterday...its still in the molds but its still soft. I used the same recipe for my first batch and i unmolded after 2 days but the soap seems very dry and crumbly...the recipe called for crisco but i used an off brand vegetable shortening. last...

does anyone know where i can find safflower oil and caster oil? I want to make Paul's Walmart Soap recipe....but i do not have any idea where to look for safflower oil and caster

thanks! yeah i plan on keeping this soap for myself...i want to do a few batches before i consider selling it or anything. But how would you recommend dying the soap? I have lots of candle wax dye chips and i also have some candle liquid dyes...but nothing specifically for soap

I just poured my first batch of cold process soap into a loaf mold! I was really excited when i saw the trace because i dont have a stick blender...i stirred my soap by hand! it took about 15min then i saw the trace! i added some peppermint fragrance oil. i read somewhere...i dont remember...

i just made it out to home depot between snow storms lol and they had lye in the plumbing section! They had the Roebic Crystal Drain Opener! I'm excited! and its like perfect weather too....its snowing really bad so i dont want to leave my apartment. I'm going to make some soap! :)
