    Arthritis

Thanks for posting, will have to look to your suggestions to see if they offer some help for my wife. We are in our early 50s and she has had arthritis in her hands for about 10 years now. She hates taking drugs so mostly we try home or natural treatments. We found one thing that has provided a...

    Ash on soap

Made my first salt bars a couple of weeks ago and this has grown on the tops of the bars. Kind of a sticky powder texture. Is it ash that is just discolored by the FO?

    Recipe feedback

Brings up a question if I may... all things considered, If I had a base formula that I liked would making a change of 1-2% SF make an appreciable difference in the bar? and do you typically run a SF at 5% and bump to 6-7 in the winter?

    Recipe feedback

I appreciate the input from all! I printed this recipe out on SoapCalc last week and have since been following advise found on this forum to learn more about the fatty acid profiles. As I was typing the beginning of this thread I was thinking that the Coconut may be a bit high. That seems to...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Finished a box to store my cured soap in. Made it out of Ash, my son's girl friend drew the tree on the lid with a sharpie and we rubbed it down with Coconut oil to bring out the grain. Very happy with how it came out. :)

Your collective knowledge has made this adventure an enjoyable one to say the least. About 5 months ago my wife purchased me a bar of soap from a flea market and I truly enjoyed it...
