    Neem recipe feedback

Ok, so with a little help from the wisdom of the forum I believe I have a new recipe settled upon, unless less of course I get more guidance to the contrary :) 35% Palm 25% Olive 20% Neem 10% Hemp 5% Coconut 5% Castor Full water with 5% SF I make my soap in 2lb batches, poured into a wooden...

    Neem recipe feedback

Thank you both for the input, I will drop the Co down as you have suggested and make up the difference between the Palm and Olive unless you feel it should go elsewhere? I will not get to soap this weekend as my schedule won't allow it but hope to have this done next weekend. I will post...

    Neem recipe feedback

Looking to explore neem oil, from what I have found it seems to be either a love it or hate it kind of thing. I have to admit that some of the descriptive language found within this forum to describe neem is colorful to say the least, none the less it has peaked my interest. The...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Cut my first attempt at a gradient pour today.... not the look I was going for. :? On an unrelated note, is it wrong to be making gravy to go with dinner and think... yea that looks good, a nice medium trace.

    Not happy with my supplier

As Penelope Jane so eloquently put it... a column mold on a budget. Head mount for a base and 3 inch PVC for the body. Line it with freezer paper and pour away. When it's time to cut remove the body from the base and push the soap out. :)

    Photos of where you soap

Taking over the kitchen! After that everything has to be packed up and stowed away under the bed and in a closet :)

What soapy thing have you done today?

Hurtling toward Jackson Missippi with my wife and 3 of my sons on a road trip to watch my daughter perform in a Spring concert at collage tonight. Making good use of the brief moments of quiet time to formulate and perfect one the 3872 different things I think I can do next weekend with my WSP...

So what are YOUR soapy secrets?

I am still new to soaping and while I enjoy it immensely I still get nervous when I get started. As such to make sure all goes well I lay EVERYTHING out in EXACTLY the order it will be needed, in that process I completely take over the kitchen. I soap on Sunday mornings and can now recognize the...

    Slow to trace?

Thank you both for the input, here are the cut bars. When the noob panic subsides I have to say I am pretty happy with them. From all of the folks on this forum that sing the praises of the 80% lard bar I have high hopes and will remain calm with the next batch. Guess you learn a little with...

    Slow to trace?

Thanks for the input! I used a stick blender intermittently and stirred gently by hand in between sessions while I let the stick blender cool down. Not that I was running it so hard that I was afraid I would overheat it but I was worried that I was overdoing it with the blender. The FOs were...

    Slow to trace?

What went wrong, if anything? I Made a batch of 80% lard soap this morning. 80% lard, 15% CO, 5% Castor, default SoapCalc settings so I that puts my recipe at a 5%SF and 38% water % of oils. I had 2 sample FOs from BB. The FOs are where I made one mistake I know. Using the BB Calc for the...

    WSP flash sale today.

The sale is a bit of voodoo. I had the cart already filled when I caught this thread. All of the items in my cart changed price but for every item that went down something else went up. It was a wash for me, the end result was effectively the same price. Still appreciate the heads up though...
