    Making bath bombs fizz more?

I didn't think SLSA / poly 80 made much bubbles but was more for making the oils dissolve into the water so the oils don't float on the surface and leave a mess in the tub! For bubbles / foam I use cream of tartar. I definitely noticed that the more COT I added I got more foam but less fizz...

    Witch hazel for bath bombs

I purchased witch hazel from Brambleberry to use for making bath bombs. They say that their Witch Hazel is 14-15% alcohol. Is this a good amount of alchol to have ? I thought I read here it should be 90% or more alchol but I may be mistaken. What type of witch hazel would you recommend? TIA

    Chalky Bath Bombs from SLSA?

Have any of you thought about using polysobrate 80 instead of SLSA ? It's more expensive but also not an irritant.

    embeds for bath bombs

Question, you said you don't use any oils and it dries fast? If you using 1:1 baking soda and citric. What causes it to stick together? I would think that you need a wet ingredient?

Decorations for bath bombs ~ ideas ?

Everclear, so liquor out the bottle just the really strong stuff!? I haven't tried witch hazel yet but have some arriving in a couple days. Would that work? Take some witch hazel and mix the dye with it and then I can use a dropper to decorate the outside of my bath bomb. I use powder dye from...

    essential oils vs fragrance oils

I am wondering it anyone uses fragrance oils in their bath bombs and what are the negatives of doing so? Is using synthetic oils in the bath bad? I've found so many scents that I would like to try that smell sooo good but its fragrance oils. I've also noticed some other bath bombs list in their...

Decorations for bath bombs ~ ideas ?

I saw a video of someone decorating their bath bomb using a squeeze bottle and putting a dye colored liquid on it to make designs etc. I know I can't dilute my dye with water as it would react with the citric acid, any suggestions on what I can mix my dyes with so I can "paint" or put drops of...

    How much cream of tartar

From my research that is what I learned and what I have tried using. So far it has worked out great. I used cream of tartar and polysorbate 80 in my last experimental bath bomb batch and it produced a nice foam, not exactly "bubble" but like what you would get from a foam soap when it dispensed...

    bought a bath bomb press

Yeah, after 2 days my test bath bombs kept their shape (minus a very little flat spot on bottom that developed pretty soon on the large one). They are also hard now. I don't think hard enough to drop on the floor from waist high, but definitely hard enough to handle and use.

So... what's a bath bombs shelf life?

Speaking of lush, I was passing on of their stores today so I bought the intergalactic bath bomb and used it tonight. I would say this one was waaaay past it's shelf live. It had ZERO fizz and just a very slow oze of color foam. It was hard before putting in my bath but once it was in I picked...

Making bath bombs like LU&H ?

I just bought an Intergalactic bath bomb from lush to use tonight for inspiration and it was a TOTAL DUD! Seriously, wtf ?? It oozed ever so slowly with zero fizz. When i picked it up it felt more like a mushy peanut butter consistency. I wonder if it sat on the shelf too long and was compromised?

Decorations for bath bombs ~ ideas ?

I'm not a big fan of the dried flowers or other things that will leave your tube a mess. I'm trying to thing of items that I can use on the outside of the bomb to make it look pretty but that will either dissolve or leave very little clean up. Maybe a small rose made out of soap? Colored sea...

So... what's a bath bombs shelf life?

Outside right now here, it's 76% Humidity (72 degrees) and inside its 52% (74 degrees) and its a pretty nice, dry sunny day. I'm going to purchase a dehumidifier, I know as we go through spring and into summer it's going to be real hard to keep the humidity in the house down when its like 90%...
