Round Confetti Soap - pic intensive

Super cute! They almost look like little cakes (I think it's Betty Crocker that has the confetti cake mix I used one year).

    First lotion here too

Oh, I made the lotion again today, but added peppermint EO (prefer unscented but others in my home will like the peppermint) and then used an almost identical recipe from her blog (can't find it now, same ingredients but different amounts) for body butter that also turned out perfect using cocoa...

    First lotion here too

Check out Susan's post on cetyl alcohol here: http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/2 ... cetyl.html My understanding is it adds slip and glide and a bit of thickening. I've been pouring over her blog and for other recipes, she notes that it provides an oil-free way to moisturize, and as a...

    Credit Card Processing??/

Well since this got bumped, I'll post this. I think I'm going to go with PAYD for markets since hubby got me an iphone (used to be a blackberry only fangirl... but I love my iphone). https://getpayd.com/About/ No contracts, it's not the cheapest processing but it's better than cash only...

    Dear Tide

Gotta remember to pick up some Tide for when hubby gets too mouthy  Too funny, thanks for posting it!

    First lotion here too

I LOVE Susan! I followed this recipe: http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/2 ... -best.html Using cocoa butter and olive oil, and added colloidal oatmeal, and now have a replacement for Aveeno. Unscented. My skin is super happy, and the lotion looks/feels perfect. Don't be afraid to...

    Planar/beveler

So I picked up both the tools I linked above (1/16 and 1/8) and am totally in love with the results of the 1/8. Thanks for the advice!! Using a veggie peeler: http://www.albertasoapcompany.com/image ... gm-oat.jpg Using wood cornering tool: http://www.albertasoapcompany.com/image ...

    Peak's FO sale

Thanks for the reminder. I soaped with "Fruit Slices" last week and it is to.die.for. I've gotta get me a bunch of that one!

    Canada Business Card printing!

I found that the company I've used before in the US, Vista Print, works out of Canada as well and got 1000 cards for $21 with tax, free shipping. Plus I got a coupon in my shipment for 25% off everything on their site. Just wanted to share in case anyone else is looking. http://www.vistaprint.ca

    printer

I'm still looking for the "printer that doesn't break every year" - stay away from HP, or anything that uses a single color cartridge. I'm leaning towards a Brother or Epsom, but I'm using an inkjet. I don't know anything about laser printers.

    Win some, lose some

New climate + new molds + "new" oils + a bunch of other variables, some of my soaps are turning out (looks-wise) less than ideal... but they still work, soap-wise lol Only one is so ugly I put it in the box for Clean the World (last pic). Just poured today, salt soap, fruit scented 2...

    Opinions please: CP vs HP

I didn't have a crockpot when I started, so I picked up a big one at walmart for $20. Soap making never hurt it, and once it was cleaned, it was fine for food use.

    Opinions please: CP vs HP

I HP to test new recipes and fix screw ups (most notably, FOs that rice on me ) Start out the same way as CP, get to trace, dump in crock pot, cook to vaseline stage (looks like vaseline/feels waxy on your fingers), add FO/EO, stir well, dump in mold, let cool. Cut. Easy peasy...

    Planar/beveler

Thank you guys! I was just looking, again, at this wood cornering tool that's mentioned here and thinking that should work better than the one from Lotion Crafters or FCS that's also mentioned a lot... good to know you all read my mind (or I read yours?)... luckily I need to go to Edmonton soon...

    Planar/beveler

Deciding what cutter to purchase was really easy thanks to this forum (I love my tank), but I've read so many opinions on different planars/bevelers I can't make up my mind. The bars I've used a veggie peeler on look terrible so I've got to purchase soon. My main need is to have nicely...

HP curing time & pH safety

There's a good reason for the "one year of soaping under your belt before you sell" guideline: you don't know if that soap will go rancid in 6 months, if it'll get DOS, if any fragrance or color will fade... you need time to test these things and know with little doubt what is going to happen to...

1st swirl attempt (4th batch ever)

GREAT work on the swirl, especially for your 4th batch! I like Costco's olive oil (regular, not extra virgin), I've never found any obvious tinting with it.

    New supplies

I did find freezer paper finally! So for now, I'm good with that. I might look at permanent silicone liners later. Been making soap as much as I can (just had to get sick, ugh), up to about $200 (retail) in soap.. aiming for about $5k in stock before I go live. It was a private deal between...
