    About trace

baby oil is possibly carcinogenic. If the baby oil is made from mineral oil (most are), the level of carcinogenicity depends on how refined the mineral oil is. Mineral oil that has been refined well enough is not generally harmful. If it has not been well refined then yes, it can be...

    About trace

Soap does not need to be at trace when poured (defining trace as lifting up your SB and the soap making trails in the batter). However, it does need to be emulsified. When I use several colorants in one batch (layers), I do not reach trace. I let the untraced layer harden before I pour the next...

    Very light or white soap?

I personally would start at a 1/4 tsp per pound of oils and go from there. If you have darker oils you will need more than if you have lighter colored oils. Be careful not to use to much, though. It can cause a crackling effect in soap. It also quickens trace for me with my recipe. I'm not sure...

    Very light or white soap?

I agree with Obsidian 100% about the Argan oil! jenneelk, I would suggest holding off on a large batch of castile right away. If you want to make it try a smaller batch first. Castile can be tricky and take foooorrrever to trace, but can cure quickly with a water discount. For a harder, faster...

I have POP! mica duplicates for sale

Yes, I have tested it. It fades just as Raspberry Pop does. It does not stay bright pink, but fades to a light pink in soap. It does not turn peachy, though.

    Very light or white soap?

I just wanted to clarify that titanium dioxide is used to make a white soap, not white mica. :)

Essential Depot's New Molds & Kits

Thank you kazmi! I really like the design because the lid is designed to sit an inch above the soap and creates a seal that helps prevent ash. Its great if you make textured tops. :)

Essential Depot's New Molds & Kits

I hope this ok to post here, but I think I can help some of you out if you end up needing a mold box for this liner. I have an example of a box made for a chawoorim liner here, and I'm always more than happy to help out my fellow soapers! Also, I can attest to the fact that the red from...
