    How to Mix Titanium Dioxide

Good Point. Safety first, I agree it can't be stressed enough. I do wear goggles and gloves for this and I don't whisk fast, it's more of a stir than a whisking. I use a whisk so the mix doesn't gain any momentum in the jug. If you used a spoon the whole thing would start moving and the...

    How to Mix Titanium Dioxide

First know which kind you have: Water or Oil Soluable\ For Water: Put your TD into your lye/water right after you have mixed in your lye. I use a whisk in a tall juice jug so not to have any splash. First I whisk the lye, then I whisk the TD. The idea is not to beat the lye, just whisk...

    Consignment vs Selling

It is time to quit apologizing for all your soapmaking efforts by putting your products into stores on consignment. I am a store owner and if an someone comes into the store and offers me her products on consigment I wonder why she feels her products aren't as good as the ones I buy outright...

    Retro Daisy & Dahlia Bars

Rosey! These bars are all cp. Coconut, palm and tallow for the white ones, I wanted to keep them as white as possible so added Titanium Dioxide to the lye water to brighten up the coconut and palm. The dark bars are coconut, palm, olive, apricot and castor. Pretty basic but a nice...

    Retro Daisy & Dahlia Bars

The dark bars are Pinetar with 100% coconut cp shred mixed in for extra lather. I softened the Pinetar smell with Peppermint and Spearmint EO's and they still have a bit of a whiff of it, but overall fresh and icy. The light bars are also Peppermint EO/Spearmint EO blend...hmmmm... I'd better...

    7 Colour Swirl

    7 Colour Swirl

I was disappointed with the depth of colour in this batch. In this batch the colour only dropped about half way thru the bars. I used an fo that I was not familiar with and it accelerated trace. I couldn't keep my batch at a light enough trace for the swirl to drop thru to the bottom. These...

    Firecrackers!!

I melted it with my oils to about 150 F. But maybe you're right. Heat the Peru first then add it to the oils. It's almost pine tar consistancy, and after the batch was poured some was left unmixed in the bottom of the pot. It's pretty heavy I suspect and just settled right to the bottom ...
