    Shampoo Drag

There are additives you can add, but not sure you would consider them natural but they are geared towards exactly what you want. I add panthenol and either wheat or silk protein to my shampoos. While they don't help with tangles, they do help with some volumizing (I have fine hair that tangles...

    Multi pouring into small mold

I am not sure how big your mold is, but when I need to put soap into small molds for embeds, I use a disposable pipette.

    Decent Shampoo Recipe Needed

I find that my formulations for shampoo bars are quite different than those for liquid shampoos when it comes to coconut/babassu oil. For shampoo bars I keep the levels around 25 - 30% for for liquid shampoo it varies from 40 - 75%. Dry hair types seem to like the lower coconut/babassu oil...

    Labeling requirements in Florida

My understanding is Florida has some of the most strict guidelines in regards to manufacturing anything but "soap" in a home. This is a good place to start your research...

Thickening Castile with Salt. Pros/ Cons, other options

It is really trial and error and good note taking. After you dilute your soap, you create your salt solution (just plain old table salt, not iodized). Once you have your salt solution, you add it by small amounts (dropperfuls) and mix it in well. It will continue to thicken over an hour so...

    Distinguishing Soap Recipes on Etsy

@coccamilia - no you cannot label your soaps with the text in those circles and still have them classified as "soap" per the FDA, nor can you market them that way even if that information does not appear on the label and have them classified as "soap". Cosmetics are not required to be tested...

Again, anytime you allude to an intended purpose of a product or an ingredient in the product via marketing, statements in a product description even testimonials as anything other than cleansing, you are no longer selling just soap but either a cosmetic or drug depending on the claim being made.

Hemp seed oil soap: Help me fix my recipe! I don't know what I'm doing..

If you are going to make a liquid soap, your oils need to add up to 100% for starters. Then you can put it through a lye calculator to determine how much potassium hydroxide and distilled water (or other liquids) you need for the oils being used. I am not familiar with ingredient #4 and why...

Best Option, in a pre-made Castile base or Bulk ?

Not sure we are talking about the same thing as the paste I am referring to is already cooked and just needs to be diluted into your liquid soap. http://www.brambleberry.com/Castile-Liquid-Soap-Paste-P4846.aspx Any soap paste can take a very long time to dilute properly and 8 hours is not...

Best Option, in a pre-made Castile base or Bulk ?

I have used Brambleberry's 100% liquid castile paste when I first started to learn about dilution. It is a true castile paste.

That tactic would fall under intended use for soap. If your marketing is touting that an ingredient will do more than cleanse, you may have crossed over into cosmetic. From the FDA: "To meet the definition of soap in FDA’s regulations, a product has to meet three conditions: What it’s made...

You obviously read far too much or too little into my initial post and filled in with your own words or thoughts on the issue - not really sure why you are now making and posting assumptions of my intent. Apparently you assumed because I said Etsy will allow cosmetic claims to be made, that I...

Again, there are different distinctions between a cosmetic and a drug. There are only labeling requirements for a cosmetic, but testing requirements for drugs in order to prove the drug claims being made. When you are selling your products you need to know what you are selling (soap, cosmetic...

You're misunderstanding what I am saying. I am not referring to the difference between soap and cosmetic - I fully understand that a product that is called anything other than "soap" or claims anything other than cleansing is considered either a cosmetic or a drug and you must follow the...

    Distinguishing Soap Recipes on Etsy

It is okay to make cosmetic claims on Etsy such as moisturizing or formulated for dry skin, oily skin, etc. You just cannot make any medical claims so using any name for a medical condition (dry or oily skin is not a medical condition) like acne, eczema and such will get your products removed...
