Store dry lye in THIS container?

It's got the 5 PP symbol (so I think that's good) It's a little squishy so it's not that thick It's got a twist top and the top is made of the same 5 PP plastic material. Can I measure out my dry lye into these, close them and store them until I'm ready to make soap?

Emulsified Sugar Scrub - where to start?

What I'm saying is that you can buy home microbial tests to test that your preservative works and I can't see a reason to test the product while 100 percent dry after making as it is only a danger when water gets in by accident. If water isn't introduced, obviously the product would pass the...

Emulsified Sugar Scrub - where to start?

I joined a facebook group and read through some conversations about this and they said the same as you about the water soluble preservative plus emulsifier. I assume the emulsifier pushes the preservative into the introduced water when it does actually emulsify. I asked them what I'd ask...

Emulsified Sugar Scrub - where to start?

I'm sorry to be a bother but I'm so confused right now. I'm really frustrated trying to figure out what preservative to use. Liquid germall plus and optiphen plus seem to be not suited for anhydrous products. I'd like to use optiphen but it doesn't have mold and yeast activity and bacteria are...

My second CP/CPOP soap! First time using colours

Turned on the oven to 170, put it in and turned it off and left it there overnight. To be honest though it gelled and got those weird bumps again pretty quickly so I think next time I do it I'll insulate instead of CPOP. Either that or turn the heat off sooner or open the door a bit at first.

    Emulsified sugar scrubs (newbie)

Thank you! I just needed somebody else to say it. I just took a shower with the other and feel fine. I have looked at the link again for swift crafty monkey and it says that liquid germall is basically like adding nothing in anhydrous products. But what I'm confused by is that... if the product...

    Emulsified sugar scrubs (newbie)

So I made some tests for my first emulsified scrub recipes and I'm not really sure if I'm succeeding edit: just to clarify what I'm actually looking for, it's mostly what amount of fragrance *should* I be looking to hit. I don't want to go too high or too low. I read 1-2 percent of the total...

Rosemary EO vs ROE for preventing rancidity & DOS

I just got some ROE too and I'm lost on what to do with coconut oil or hard butters. It doesn't really help much with shea or cocoa butter but I guess it's only the liquid oils that go rancid. If I mix a hard oil with a liquid in an emulsified scrub it might be tricky to come up with a...

    Honest reviews online and sensitivity

Thank you for the responses. I had very briefly researched silk production and although you can take the silk from discarded pods, in large production what they do is they wait for the caterpillars to cocoon and then kill them while they are inside because when they eat their way out of it they...

    Honest reviews online and sensitivity

Hey I don't quite know how to put this but I'd like some advice if you can spare some. I won't go into detail (they might be on this forum). I got a product from a soaper that was watermelon scented, and it smelt how you'd expect. But on their label it was listed as "essential oil blends". In...

Favourite youtube soapers? Do you have a soaping youtube channel?

I like her voice, I think it's sultry ^_^ That's actually very helpful though because chances are people would hate my voice (for various reasons) So I might include titles. I hope I can come across some more newbies who make videos. I don't think I have anything really to add to the...

Wort and beer soap using beer kit

Thank you. I was originally just going to use the wort but since I found that thread I assumed there was a benefit to the boiled down fermented beer. I'm wondering if the yeast has any skin benefits. But I wouldn't need to leave the beer to ferment to get that, you can just add the yeast? But...

Favourite youtube soapers? Do you have a soaping youtube channel?

Just being silly  There's also a museum right next to it, she probably gets lots of people who have disposable income to splurge on soaps. I believe she makes her own music for her videos too. I think that's really neat.

No competitors XD And it's right where the boats come in. Looks like a beautiful place to live. Her soap shop is on a boat in the middle of the ocean.
