    guerrilla gardening

P.S. If you like the idea, but don't like living on the edge, maybe seed bombs are more to your liking. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-a-Seed-Bomb/

    guerrilla gardening

The only hobby that even competes with soap making (at least for me) is gardening. My latest side- interest is Guerrilla Gardening, that is planting in abandoned and neglected areas. It evidently started in New York City and quickly spread to London. I first learned about it through Ron...

Pouring into mould before trace - problem?

Emulsification is all you need as long as you are sure you reached that point. It is more difficult than using trace, which is an obvious sign. But if you are sure, then go for it.

    another newbie ?? re: emulsifiers

DeeAnna, yes I am making (or trying to make) a scrub w/o water. Thanks for all the good info. I'm also trying to use a bit of the coffee left from making coffee oil, so it is infused with sweet almond oil. Not sure but what fresh grounds would have been better (except for my "use it up"...

    Anyone made soaps for dogs

TEG is correct. There are lots of threads about soaps for dogs. However, (and I could be wrong about this as I did not go back and reread them) I don't recall any addressing the scent "problem" you referred to. I have not found this to be a problem. Though my recipe did not include lard...

help me scientifically respond to the "soap is bad for skin pH" claim

I do not have the answer you are looking for, but want to offer my opinion. (Beside the fact that better-than-thou people like this are pure jerks!) If I were you, I'd take the one good source you have found, LOAD UP on scientific studies about the ill effect syndets are having not only on our...

    Baby Soap??

It is a difficult call. Handmade soap is high PH. But I personally would prefer that to using Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, and certainly would NOT use anything containing sodium laureth sulfate on my child. If mine were babies now I would bathe them with a mild olive oil and/or lard soap and just...
