    My Big, Fat Soaping Weekend!

I've had a weekend of soaping and trying new things - new to me anyway. They were all time-consuming, but there is such a reward in it if they turn out the way you pictured them.

Just made my first goat's milk soap and I think I'm in love!

goat's milk soap I'm glad you are enjoying the goat's milk. It accounts for about 90% of my cp soaps, and I love it. I prefer gelled soap myself, but it really comes down to personal preferences. I don't find my gelled soap any darker in color than the ungelled, generally, and I think it is...

    How to prevent color bleeding?

nonbleeding colorants Try the soap safe micas from TKB trading. If I am doing embeds or layers, they are all I will use. The is absolutely no bleeding, and you can achieve virtually any color.

    New divider mold

divider mold It is a cute mold. I am 8 batches into my new Soaphutch mold, and I love it too - no lining, no oiling, no freezing (others say they do), and it unmolds so slick and smooth. When I use the dividers, I get ash too. I think it might be the open air above the soaps. I've been...

    4 swirly soaps

Here are a few more from my restocking lineup: PINK GRAPEFRUIT, FRENCH LILAC, ENERGY, CHOCOLATE MINT. These are all goat's milk soaps. The first three get their color from pop micas. I LOVE my pops. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    Latest Batch - Again...no swirl

trouble swirling Don't be too discouraged. I think you have too heavy a trace. Have you tried doing your swirl in the pot at a light trace?

    3 new soaps

I tried this earlier and made a mistake. It would appear that there is a learning curve in posting pictures in the photo gallery  Spearmint funnel swirl. Blackberry Sage ITM swirl. Island Coconut ITM swirl. All three are goat's milk soaps, and all three were gelled. If anyone...

labels I love your labels, and now I also feel inspired! Beautiful soaps too.

Anyone know how to get this look?

I am pretty sure that this is done in a slab mold with dividers to pull the swirl colors down the sides of the bar. Something skinny was used to pull the color through the soap - maybe a skewer? I'm thinking that it was a very cooperative fragrance too!

    Loving Bay Rum

bay rum Very nice! I haven't tried bay rum, but I was just ordering some fragrance oils, and I might try it. My dad was an Old Spice guy too, and I think there are a lot of women out there who would relate. Currently, my favorite men's fragrance is BB Vanilla Oak. My sister calls it that...

    Soap Molds

gel in soaphutch I did two separate batches in two of the three log sections, and mine heated up really nicely. I REALLY insulated though. I laid a sheet of waxed butcher paper with a big, flat book on top. Then I covered with a couple of folded bath towels. I had to take off a bit when my...
