What's the deal with beer soap?

beer soap I make three kinds of beer soap. One is with a dark ale that I fragrance with vanilla and cinnamon. Another is a pale ale which is fragranced with 5X sweet orange oil and ginger. The third is a very dark stout fragranced with pumpkin pie FO. All three are very popular with both...

I can't live without pink soap any longer

pink soap I'm a pink girl too, and I have found that if you use ENOUGH of the raspberry pop, it will pop. If you gel your soap, it will pop more. I've also seen color tests with the Labcolors in fuschia, and it was a beautiful pink.

Newbie need help with th hardness of my soap recipe

hardness in soap I use cocoa butter in equal proportions to my palm oil, and my soap is hard right down to the last sliver. I omitted it for a year as a test, but I went back to it. Besides hardness, it is nice and creamy, and gentle on the skin. Of course, an allergy would nix that.

    lye refuses to dissolve completely

bad lye I had this problem about 18 months ago, in Canada. I have always bought my lye in the 3 kg jugs from Home Hardware. In a new shipment of lye, the texture was different - finer grains. My soap was turning out extremely soft and sort of gummy, and I noticed that my lye solution was...

    My Latest Soaps

Wow! You've been busy. I think they all look wonderful, but I agree with the comments about strawberry fo's. I have never used one that behaved really well in cp soap. LOVE the jojoba beads! I need to get some of those.

    "VICKI'S DAYDREAM"

Vicki's Daydream Thank you all for the very kind comments. I have just returned from Vicki's memorial, and the soap was a hit with her girls. It is a wonderful fragrance and sticks beautifully in cold process soap. Also, it's super easy to soap because it stays nice and fluid. I highly...

    "VICKI'S DAYDREAM"

Vicki's Daydream Thanks so much for the encouragement! This batch will be gifted to the kids, but I think I will make more as a regular in my line. Everyone has found it very fresh and spring-like - in appearance, and the fragrance is very appealing. I appreciate the kind comments.

No liner soap molds,.. have I wasted my money?

HDPE molds I am going to say it again - they are not all created equal. I would not trade my Soaphutch mold for a dozen silicone molds. It really is a matter of preference, but to say that all HDPE molds are a waste of money is complete nonsense.

    mould question

dividers I'm going to jump in since no one else has. I made a divider for doing mantra swirls in a log mold. The material that I used was quilters' mylar, which I found at Michael's. I found it to be still a bit too floppy, so I wrapped it in duct tape. Since you want the dividers to stay...

    "VICKI'S DAYDREAM"

I lost this the first time I tried to post, so forgive me if it shows up twice. I made this soap in honor of my late sister-in-law, Vicki, who passed away from a brain tumor on March 7, at the age of 52. She was a vivacious person who loved bright colors. My mom made her a beret and scarf out...

    Resizing your photos

"Vicki's Daydream" This is a soap that I made in honor of my late sister-in-law, Vicki, who passed away on March 7th, at the age of 52. She was a vibrant person who liked to wear bright colors. My mom made her a beret and scarf in exactly these shades of orange, turquoise, yellow, and lime...

    Best molds for professional use

Soaphutch I had a custom Soaphutch mold made in December, and it is WONDERFUL! It can be configured into three 15-inch logs or a divider slab with 18 bars. It is made of HDPE, and it has released perfectly right from the very first batch. It's heavy, though, and postage would be brutal.

No liner soap molds,.. have I wasted my money?

HDPE molds All HDPE molds are not created equal. Mine is HDPE from Soaphutch, and the release is amazing. I don't oil it or line it at all. I had another one, though, and it was a nightmare similar to what you are going through. After about 15 batches, it was better, except for the bottom...
