If you make goat's milk - HELP!!!

goat's milk soap I thought I would throw my two cents worth in here. ALL I make is goat's milk soaps, usually at 100% of the fluid. I have found that using frozen milk, chopped into chunks, mixed with lye, stirred until all the milk is thawed, works best for me. The mixture usually ends up...

    Pigments from tkb trading.....?

pop mica I have used the pop micas very successfully in cp soap. The orange is wonderful! The only one that TKB says morphs is the strawberry. I have the liquid pop micas, and I think I will order the powders for more economical use in cp. Love them!

Pink Sugar & Juniper Aloe Soap

Pink Sugar soap There has been a bit of discussion on coloring pink sugar soap. I finally decided to pull out a large unscented portion to color pink and added cocoa to the rest. I am pretty pleased with the results. If I can get a photo, I will post it. Pink sugar is difficult to color...

Can You Over Freeze Your GM CP Soap?

GM soap Goat's milk is the only kind of cp soap I make, and I have never stuck it in the freezer. Can I ask why you want to avoid gelling it? I prefer the texture of soap that has gone through a gel phase - harder, smoother. I freeze the goat's milk before adding the lye or add ice cubes to...

Orange Blossom FO I purchased neroli from Ellen's Essentials earlier this year and find it very close to real orange blossoms, but it is VERY strong. I would use half the amount of fo that I usually use.

    foaming sugar scrub recipe

foaming scrub I have used the foaming bath butter, and I believe that it is by far the best salt scrub I have ever used. Base recipes vary, so check ingredients before you buy. I also make a lot of the little sugar cube scrubs. They are super cute, easy to make, and extremely popular: 2 oz...

    Soft soap

I received two replacement jugs of lye crystals from Home Hardware today. So far, so good. It is heating up and dissolving as it should. Their response to all the trouble is that they had a batch that was refusing to dissolve as it should. Therefore, it was not kicking out heat or gelling as...

    Colorants

I saw the nicest pink sugar soap online. A portion was taken out and colored with pink neon pigment and fragrance was added to the main batch only. The pink soap was the frosting on top of the loaf, slightly swirled down into the brown. I would love to find the equivalent of a neon pink...

    Soft soap

I contacted HH about the lye. I agree that it is a finer grain than my previous containers. HH said that they realize soapers are having a few problem, and my local store has offered to replace mine with new stock from the warehouse. HH states that it is just lye and that no ingredients have...

    Soft soap

I have had the same problem with lye that I purchased from HH. I did make a successful batch by doing the following: using the 0% superfat quantity of lye, using the lowest recommended amount of water, and heating the lye mixture to 125 degrees in a pot of water. I mixed both the oils and the...
