What have I done wrong, any ideas?

That's interesting Dixiedragon. I'm still really new to this, this is my 8th batch or so. I have used lard in some of my batches, but I'm still experimenting with different fats, to see what happens really. It's out of the moulds now, there's a few pockets where I haven't got the batter into...

What have I done wrong, any ideas?

I had no idea there were any reviews until last night, believe me, I'll be sure to read them in future! :D It's not the prettiest soap ever, that's for sure. It looks like it might be a bit lumpy.

What have I done wrong, any ideas?

Yes, it's from a reputable soap-making supplier. However, I just found a section of their site that I hadn't spotted before - customer reviews. It seems that this particular FO doesn't work well in CP soaps. One reviewer says it went to solid trace before they even got it in the mould, so it...

What have I done wrong, any ideas?

I can't see any oil separating out, it does appear to be partially gelling though, which I hadn't expected (or wanted). It's in individual silicon moulds, and I left it unwrapped, but it's got a darker patch in the middle. I rubbed a wet (gloved!) finger over the surface of the worst ones, to...

What have I done wrong, any ideas?

I've just poured a batch of CP soap, I anticipated that the FO might accelerate trace, but the batter went jelly-like as I was pouring, and the final bars look grainy. I don't know if I let the oils get too cool. (I had an almost-volcano a while back which I think was due to the fats being too...

Planning a rebatch. Should I add anything?

Thanks everyone. Ah well, never mind about the slime. It was worth doing for the learning experience. So, does coconut oil count as a liquid, even though it's solid at room temperature? That's something I didn't know. I'm not dead set on rebatching, the confetti idea is a good one, thank you.

Planning a rebatch. Should I add anything?

Hello everyone, I'm new here but have been reading these boards for a couple of months now and have already learned a lot from you folks :) My first batch of CP soap was made 16th Jan, so about six weeks ago. It was the following recipe: 6oz canola oil (42.86%) 4oz coconut oil (28.57%) 4oz...
