I keep the shavings and when I have enough I make a white batch of soap and add the shavings as confetti. Usually I use 30% shavings, 70% soaping oils. Tanya :)

This is just my opinion, but I feel they will disappear in CP soap - the lye monster will get them as they are quite delicate. If you HP you could add some after the cook and see if you notice anything as far as scent goes? Same deal with M&P - add them before pouring. Good luck!

That is a great link Dagmar! I have scented an RBO single oil soap with Macadamia Nut fo and also another batch with an equal blend of lavender and rose geranium eos. If you want it to be a rice scent, I have seen a Rice Pudding fo and also Toasted Rice fo, both of which are on that link...

I've used that Chrissy - it is in my Coconut Ice pink & white soap that you got - no discolouring that I could find!

That is exactly how I do it and find the synergy flows into my creativity - so I focus on what my preferred customer base wants (initially it was family and close friends) and their feedback and preferences lead me to create something new that we all love. So much fun! Tanya :)

Chrissy - I have used it at 10% in CP and it feels wonderful. I tend to try out new oils at no higher than that rate because I hope to keep under the 'dos radar' that way :)

I can't recommend a book Emilee - I use Aussie Soap Supplies recipe formulary for anything I want to know - but I do know that stearic thickens an emulsion and citric balances the pH. HTH! Tanya :)

I have soaped BBs Turkish Mocha fo and it is gorgeous in CP - real staying power and smells divine! I have their Jasmine as well and oob it is gorgeous. I haven't yet soaped it but the review at Aussie Soap Supplies is that it sticks well. Tanya :)
