    Today's Experiment

I thought about this for the next batch - with these I was way too late by the time the thought came up! lol

    Body Powder Containers

I'm making some body powders for Christmas gifts, and I'm looking for containers. I wanted to get something that would have the fuzzy puff and then a container it and the powder fits in (or at this point even separate as long as they fit). I could also do a shaker container if that's all I can...

Really?!?!?! I did not know this! Thanks!

    Today's Experiment

I'm not thrilled with it, but right now I have to stop spending so much on my soaping hobby. It isn't terrible, but I'm going to keep playing with it.

    Today's Experiment

I bought a silicon shot "glass" baking mold from Michael's and poured clear M&P with Peppermint EO in the mold. Once it came out, I mixed up a little more M&P, added peppermint EO and some cocoa powder, and poured into the "glass." Then I whipped regular M&P with a little liquid castille soap...

    Today's Experiment

So I saw these shot glass silicone molds and decided they needed to become soap. Here's the first experiment. Not thrilled with the "chocolate" portion, and I need to fix a few things (bubbles, piping, etc), but not too bad for the two testers! They're Peppermint Hot Chocolate soap shots -...

    Christmas Tree Soaps

I did! And I changed the scent to Nature Garden's Christmas Cabin (which is AWESOME). Here's a pic. Its a bit hard to see the sparkle, but they look SO much better with it!

    A Watery Question...

Makes sense. I just won't worry about it then! :)

    Salt Bar Question

Thanks! I've thrown out the book's recipe, and done some research. I'm planning to use 80% CO, 10% Shea and 10% Castor with 100% Coconut Milk. I did it in soap calc at a 13% SF. The salt is the only part I'm debating. I set it up for 50% salt so that when everything was mixed it would fit a...

    Salt Bar Question

No, it just listed it as "1 pound recipe of cold process soap" rather than providing a recipe. - The directions have you mixing up the CP soap as normal, and then adding in the salt. No rebatching, that's why it seemed weird to me.

    Salt Bar Question

Thanks! I thought that seemed really wrong, but I hadn't made a salt bar before, so I wanted to double check before I screwed something up really bad! I'll hunt that recipe down - thanks!

    A Watery Question...

Ok. Thanks! I've only ever dealt with hard water or in the middle, never soft, so I wasn't sure what to make of it.

    Salt Bar Question

Okay. I want to try making salt bars this weekend. I have a recipe, but I'm questioning part of the directions. Those of you who've made these, is the cure time right? It is for a 2# loaf, which I figured would work since I haven't made them before. Small is good. Recipe (from Everything...

    A Watery Question...

Is there something I should change in my recipes, or is it just a fact of life when you have that kind of water?

What soapy thing have you done today?

I'm waiting on a supply order, and planning to make a sugar scrub bar with some M&P tonight while I plot for the next round of CP (When the supplies come). And I have convinced my husband to let me have most of the tiny garage (he gets the shed) for my soaping activities. He's building me (or...

    A Watery Question...

I've been testing some of the soaps I've made, and I've been really happy thus far. BUT, I took a bar to work. It seemed slippery, and hard to get it all off. So I thought maybe an additive I put in the bar (Its CP) was to blame, even though the other half of the batch worked beauitfully at...

On the hunt for a specific scent....

No, its just Sky. The description of the scent says: "blend of fresh violet blooms, sparkling bergamot, and pink pepper, floating on a clouds of whipped lily petals and sheer sandalwood." So if anyone can think of something that would compare, I'm all ears!
