    Making a big order with oils....

    I like OO and CO but I am having trouble with the harshness of the CO and the slimeyness of the OO I have 3 batches curing that I have tweaked so I have to see if those recipes are keepers.

    In SoapMaker, you just enter your 5% to the lye discount field, easy peasey! I added my siperfat oils at trace so I entered 0 % into the lye discount box and added 6 % of apricot kernel oil along with my FO, maybe I should just put it with all my other oils.. Kveðja María

    If I want to superfat my soap 5% do I calculate my FO's and EO's into the superfat amount and top off with a base oil or? Kveðja María

    I paid about 150 us dollars for shippment that was about 5 kilos of essential oils, as for the taxes I paid about 70 us dollars as the taxes are lower on food items but I think it was just luck it wasnt taxed as a cosmetic item. Kveðja María

    Ahhh ok, so the grade matters.. They have kaolin 50 that is a better grade and she did mention that it was used in masks but I will have to investigate this further. Thank you for the reply. Kveðja María

    I found a ceramic firm here that sells kaolin and bentonite clay, I am wondering , is it the similar or same as cosmetic grade?, it is clearly labeled as kaolin and bentonite. Kveðja María

    Food grade vanilla is it safe to use?

    That is a shame, the vanilla I have is oil based and I have about 16 0z so maybe if I put 1oz ppo it could give a subtle scent.. Well It can't hurt to try since i have alot of vanilla. Kveðja María
