Soaping withdrawl - visiting the Lush store

So, boys are out of the house at college, been traveling for work the past 6 weeks, haven't been able to make soap. Coming home tonight, I have a trip to the Minnesota Renaissance Faire this weekend, I usually make bathbombs for the hotel for my wife, not sure if I'll have time to make them...

A bald eagle just flew over my yard!!!

Growing up in North East Iowa, I've seen Eagles all over, more now than in the past. Something has changed that causes the Bald Eagles to come deeper into Iowa from Minnesota the past few years. We've been having a huge return of wild life, when I was young I occasionally would see a coyote...

I've spent a decent amount of time in London, and have done exactly what you suggest.

    Germany and Austria

Ok, getting ready to go to Germany and Austria in less than 2 months to visit my better half's family. I need the list of must dos, must sees. My better half said I have to behave while there. Not sure what she meant by that. I know she doesn't like it when I juggle apples at the grocery...

Math is EVIL (it's giving me a literal headache)

Um, I've written software financial calculators in the past. I'm willing to give it ago, but you'll need to tell/explain what you need as I've never made lotion.

    White spots on soap

Sure, but you might want to say how much of each. If one is chunky, you could blender it with the other until it's smooth, that way you reduce chunks before you soap. Or as The Efficacious Gentleman suggest, straining.

What is this horrible gray stuff?

I don't know, but is it just me or is it wearing white sunglasses in the second photo?

    Poppy seeds in soap

In the past I've added poppy seeds, and they usually work fine, but 1 time they bleed brown, any thoughts? Was it the type of poppy seeds I used? Tones poppy seeds from the spice isle at the market.

    Empty nest...

It's just an odd feeling. Here is a picture of the dogs, it's old, Stripe's (Baloo) parents Meadow and Storm are the right 2 dogs.

    Empty nest...

    Soap holding its shape

I think it depends on the ingredients of the soap, the shape, the cure time, and the overall stress on the bar. I've been told Stearic Acid and Beeswax help make strong bars, and well as hard butters and oils. If you have strong hands, you maybe scrubbing and stress the structural integrity of...

    How is this accomplished?

Not sure, but this technique could be used to make soaps that look like various granite stones.

    No scent to finished soap

In my experience, fragrance oils work better for scents, Essential Oils work for the properties of the herb/plant.

    Soap for teeth

My grandmother insisted it would improve language skills.

HP Transparent Soap - developing white patches

Are you using a distilled water? It kinda looks like hard water minerals like salts crystallizing. Not sure though. So it could also be sugar crystallizing depending how much you use.

    Moon Shelf

I'm thinking of making one for myself, and the back could be the Sun with spires coming off.
