Oil's /you/ think are 'must have'

For whatever reason! Be it to experiment with, or because you use them in almost everything. I have already found I will likely be working with Palm and Olive frequently, thankfully they are decently available around here. What are some of your favorites that you use often, and why? :) The...

    Poll: Colorants

I poked around on WSP just now and see that they have several nice color, but have you seen http://www.bulkapothecary.com and have any experiance there? THey are a bit cheaper on the cost per oz, and I think they are closer to me for shipping (im in CO)

    Poll: Colorants

I am on various forums from games to cars and hobbies. And I have found that opinion polls are great ways to get information to gather for yourself, and for others. You can learn a lot. Depending on the topic, I have put as many polls out as once a week, and the results are surprising!:shock...

    Silicone Molds

Frankly, I think irregularities make it better, more 'hand made'

    Looking for Recipe

Frankly if I knew the process (or was a soap seller myself, on ebay or anywhere else) I would report them for false advertising and misleading (And potentially harmful / dangerious) practices Some people purchase Castile soaps (Like my (now passed) aunt) because she was highly alergic to many...

    Looking for Recipe

There is someone on ebay selling soaps with the most misleading description ever. My favorite parts include: "The soaps for sale here in this listing are the best old fashioned castile soaps made; " Followed up by: **All ingredients including Palm Oil are from sustainable resources that do...

    Soap Lamentation

Completely unrelated, but Luna...that is the greatest icon ever. :)

    First soaps (4 days later)

So this problem would have been avoided had I been able to wrap and insulate it properly correct? Its also cosmetic only and thus will be good for personal use in 2-4 weeks?

    Distilled or Filtered??

I buy the water from walmart with the UV filtering and all that Jaz, the bottles are re-usable and re-fillable, and for 1.25 a gallon its not a bad price, and refills are like 60 cents :D

    First soaps (4 days later)

It may be worth noting, that I used a M+P's mold so there was no way for me to wrap it to help trap heat to be fair, so it may not have finished proper. :/ Like I said room mate tends to make my life hard sometimes :P

    First soaps (4 days later)

Soaplike. You know. Like soap o.o; I am still working on creative descriptors. Soaplike; Hard, dry-ish-not-wet-looking, feels like any bar of soap would feel? :) I had them stored in the extra room, on paper towels, that rooms temp ranges from if I had to guess 67-72 (We did hve a snow storm...

    First soaps (4 days later)

I wont say they are perfect. But figured I would share my first attempt with you all. (Pictures coming at some point) It was a basic soap, olive oil, castor, coconut, 37.5 37.5 and the rest the other, I wanna say it was mostly castor and olive (Yes yes, I know, I didnt write it down :P) They...

    Weights and Measurs Again...

I want to thank you all for the great awnsers, maybe im just insane or cant wrap my head around it, eventually it might click or ill just end up thinking im spending way more than I am. But brambles calc has my brain in a knot over this (Also sorry about the long reply times RL been hectic here...

    Weights and Measurs Again...

See thats what I was talking about I dont know if it is their calc that is messing me up or what, but I was getting anything from 2-3 dollars per bar based on their calculations for a medium scented soap O.O

    Weights and Measurs Again...

Im good at math in the 'really obscure and long way' you got to the same awnser (Give or take a penny) that I did using your price points, I knew I must have been wrong somewhere, now im even more crazy because I see the math works but dont know how I get there LOL this is how I did the math...

    Weights and Measurs Again...

Dang. Even in a virtual world I have to go to diffrent stores. :)

    Weights and Measurs Again...

See thats what I did for the cost of the EO, and I thought I was spot on with it, but I may not be. I understand bulk saves money but cutting the cost of the bar down 50 or even 75% is insane to think is all EO....right? :)

    Weights and Measurs Again...

Ah, I put bar instead of loaf, but my math is correct. 5 pound LOAF (/forgive/ me for my typo!) costs that much to make, I would have thought the fact that my math included cutting a 4 to six pound bar 11 times would have cleared up the typo. My bad. Math still works. Forgive my typo. As...

    Weights and Measurs Again...

How big of a bar do you make? I like the look of the 1 inch bars, but somthing tells me that 5.5 oz is a HUGE bar :P
