    real avocado flesh in soap

Nope, I've never used anything but pureed pumpkin. I'd be curious to hear about pureed avocado though, if anyone has done it.

    Selling Soap....

My biggest piece of advice (based on experience, believe me), is to PLAN your business BEFORE you go into business. I had this idyllic vision of "just selling soaps to fund my habit," but selling enough soap to fund my habit meant running a full-fledged business. Which is way more involved...

Do you worry about your pipes and septic system??

I wonder about this myself, but it has not yet stopped me from washing my pots in the sink. My biggest concern is the pot I melt my solid fats in. When I do cold process, I do NOT wash the bowls/spatulas/stick blender without first wiping the batter off with rags. I DO, however...

    Breast Milk Soap

Well, a dear, lactating friend of mine who has been suffering some serious skin issues lately, asked me yesterday if I would have a problem making a breast milk soap for her. For all of those in the "ewwwww" category, perhaps you should stop reading now, but this friend said she accidentally...

    what's your favorite lathering accessory?

I've only knit, so I don't know which is easier. I find knitting to be pretty simple once you learn how to do it, but if you've already crocheted before, that would probably be easier for you. The cloths I've used wash really well, and they get softer with each washing. They may shrink a...

    what's your favorite lathering accessory?

Knitting (or crocheting) washcloths is a wonderful thing to do while you're waiting for fats to melt, then while lye and oils are cooling (then sitting in front of your curing soaps, watching them and waiting for that "ready to use" date). I just knit a couple of rows at a time. It might take...

Hi Lindy, I would definitely be interested if I can afford it!

    Advertising ???

Ah yes, I should have specified - I'm almost exclusively a web-based business, so most of my advertising is web-based. I think if you have a storefront, a local magazine/weekly would be an ideal place to advertise, or even the Sunday paper.
