    This weekend's Soaps

OMG!!!! Maybe I'm a freak, but the grey one is my absolute FAVORITE!!! It looks like a warm slab of rock that I can go sit on in the sun. It's so soothing and grounding. How did you do that?!!! Is it scented? Holy cow!!! You totally made my day - it's a masterpiece!

    Need help finding Lye

I get my lye from my local ACE Hardware. I used to go into the store and by it by the 1 lb bottle, but once I upped my production, I found that I could order cases of 12 bottles at a bulk discount price and have them shipped to my ACE free of charge. I just have to pick them up when they...

    Hi, I'm new here =)

Welcome! Have fun soaping. Your kids are gonna love it! I've got a 5 yo and a 3 yo at home, and they absolutely LOVE that I make our soap. They're always so excited to sniff it when it's done, and they inevitably say, "MMMMMMM, that's YUMMY!" Kids are so great for self-esteem ;-)

    Show me your SAPONIFACTORY!

Oh man, I'm so jealous of anyone who has all their soapmaking stuff in one place! We are a family of four living in a tiny two-story townhome, so my stuff is stuffed into any nook or cranny I can find. I make soap in my kitchen, but my supplies are stored under the bathroom sink, in the hall...

    milk in hot process?

Hi everyone! Wow, I have been away too long! I got slammed over the holidays and was so busy making soap (YAY!) and writing a business plan (yuck!) that I wasn't on the forum at all for months. I'm trying to make it more a part of my regular routine to get on here, though, because I have...

    Pict's of HP soaps

How gorgeous!!! I love the blue and white one. Wow, you have me all inspired to start using more color. I used turmeric the other day to get a lovely golden yellow, but I didn't swirl it. I was too timid to try to swirl in HP. You've definitely proven that it can be done beautifully, so I'm...

    Did you profit this year?

I agree! I get both fun and (eventually?) profit by offering both a permanent product line and seasonal product lines. Then I can play around with seasonal stuff, experimenting and offering fresh products that folks can't get year-round.

    Did you profit this year?

Nope, no profit in 2008, but I plan to profit in 2009! That's my goal, anyway :-) I've only been selling since April 2008, and after crunching numbers in January (LOTS of numbers), I figured out that if I double my sales this year, I should be able to profit (fingers crossed!!). Since I did...

    Just want to say thanks

This forum is just awesome. I had about ten different questions today regarding display stands, vending, ash, ummm, I can't remember what else... But anyway, I found answers to every single one of my questions by searching this forum. I found extremely useful links, I saw lots of great...

    Newbie looking for Suppliers, help!

I really like www.newdirectionsaromatics.com. They have great prices on a lot of the oils I use, including the best price on Hemp Seed oil that I've found. They also have LOTS of EO's, along with helpful information about each EO - its uses, background, and blending ideas.

    I'M SO NERVOUS!

How exciting!!! Isn't it wonderful to know that someone loves your creations so much that they're willing to give you money for them? I've been a stay at home mom for the past four years (and still am), and the first time someone paid me for a bar of soap, I was just beside myself. My first...

Welcome! I live just up the road from you in Tampa. If you are looking for a local supplier of oils, etc., check out Florida Suncoast Soapworks at www.fssoapworks.com. I just found them this week, and I'm picking my order up tomorrow. Woohoo! No more astronomical shipping charges for...

    rebatch HP to correct scent?

Hi everyone, I've gone bananas! I was doing strictly CP as a soaper, but once I did a rebatch, I decided to try HP. Now I'm hooked on both :D Anyway, I recently did a HP batch, and the scent didn't quite come out the way I wanted it to. So my questions are: 1) Can you rebatch HP...

Easy Peasy Soap Mold Lining System

I'm also interested in this and wonder how you unmold your soaps with this liner.

    Pumpkin Spice

That's lovely! I love the green "stem." Did you use a fragrance oil or an EO blend?

    Help with fragrances

I agree that Liberty has some incredible essential oils, though I can't help much with your floral needs. I use EOs almost exclusively, so I use mostly earthy and herbal stuff (most of the floral EOs I'd like are prohibitively expensive - jasmine and rose come to mind immediately). Anyway...
