Five most annoying things about master batching

It did thicken and there was a clump so I'm doing the bucket in the sink. If I poured into smaller containers what sort are ideal? I don't have any right now.

Five most annoying things about master batching

I hope not else I didn't really need to melt them today. I have no idea how I would melt oil in a giant plastic bucket. Not sure sitting in a sink of hot water would do the job. The bucket is currently sitting next to a heating vent. I would sometimes weight out my oils the night before and...

Five most annoying things about master batching

And I liked point 2 so much that I just went on NDA and bought more molds, more castor oil, more shea butter and well a few other things to the tune of $105. I've been wanting another silicone loaf mold and a cavity mold (for salt bars) for ages now. So screw it, 'tis done.

    Rant... Thoughts welcomed.

I really dislike people who ask money for something without knowing what the hell they are doing. Especially when I bust my gut to earn a living doing things the right way. And when health and safety is at stake. Drives me crazy in my 'day business' so it's a good thing I stay in a bubble when...

Five most annoying things about master batching

Today I went to the hardware store and bought myself a nice big plastic bucket (11L) so I could weigh out all my oils in one big batch and maybe start making soap again. I really haven't had the time. It was umm.... well let's see. It took me a bit over an hour to weigh out, melt and combine my...

    Coffee cake

This fragrance was my husband's choice. He wants all of it too! It was cooler in the house so I just left it uncovered and yippee no partial gel!

    Partial gels... Boo

Hmm I did both those things on the last batch actually. It set up super fast too... at room temp.

    Partial gels... Boo

So I haven't been around much I've been super busy and I moved house. But it's time to start soaping again... I love my silicone mould but the partial gel drives me crazy. I've tried covered and uncovered. The old place was very hot and the new house gets pretty warm right now too. I get...

    Packaging for wet soaps

K so I don't have anywhere to put a basket of soaps, nor do I want to. I just want to leave one cute guest bar on the sink with a little bag and a note. I'll have regular liquid soap there as well. I want it to look like a thoughtful surprise not a 'here's a sample of the soap I sell'. If they...

    Packaging for wet soaps

I would just put a new bar out! I never have more than one client a day. I wasn't sure if people would like sharing soap?? I just wanted them to see a pretty bar when they go in and see the note and think that was cool. But the bag has to be super pretty too.

    Packaging for wet soaps

I'm ashamed to admit I use a zip-lock bag for my soap when I travel.

    Packaging for wet soaps

Hmm. I wanted to put a gift sized bar on the vanity with a little sign saying if you like it, take it home with a little bag next to it. As a little fun gift for clients. It may or may not be dry depending on if/when they last used it.

    Packaging for wet soaps

This might sound odd but I was looking for a nice way to package soaps that are already wet so that someone who used a soap could take it home with them. I have been searching the web but everything seems to be muslin bags or shrink wrap. I'm thinking more a pretty bag that won't leak in...

    Canadian suppliers. . . .

Voyageur is awesome and their shipping costs are completely reasonable even for heavy boxes. I'm closer than you are though. But I think you'll find you are pleasantly surprised. I do think some items are cheaper at NDA though. If you really wanted to get serious about it you'd have to compare...

    Pictures on soaps

I didn't really know how to search for this because the words are so common and I have no idea if there is a special name for it. So here goes. How do you make the soaps that have the picture on top? I had them when I was a kid. I was thinking I'd like to try it. But I am not sure what paper...

    Laundry soap

The laundry soap is going great by the way. Hubby ended up grating most of it. My eucalyptus stain laundry bar mysteriously disappeared after one use. Luckily I had a second one in the cupboard but I would sure like the first one to show up. It works extremely well. I might make more, I have...

    Laundry soap

I am please to report that a tiny chunk of this soap did an amazing job on baby poop that a commercial bar wasn't getting off. Hand washing in the sink. I started using the grated soap with washing soda for other three loads of laundry. I haven't inspected them but I think they will be good...
