    Aging mp base

The original box is good but if you want to keep it in an airtight container, that would be ideal. Also, you should store it in a closet or someplace well away from heat/humidity. Rubbermaid, along with other brands, makes a 14-gallon container. I don't blame you for not wanting to cut up all...

    Aging mp base

Stephenson's base keeps very well for at least 2 or 3 years. I like to test my soap! I keep it wrapped and in a Rubbermaid storage container with a snug, leak-proof lid. If it's food safe and BPA-free, then it's fine for soap storage, whether bars of soap or raw soap base. Here's a picture...

Is doing M&P Cheating? Like a Box Cake Mix?

Unfortunately, there have been people crafting melt and pour soap using metal pans as a double boiler rather than stainless steel. It will cause wrinkles in the soap. Another case was someone actually using a plastic container over as a double boiler and wondering why it melted. There are other...

You know you're a crazy soap person when...

I can't count how many bars of soap are in the shower because some of them are old, others are sample size, and a few of them are from other soapers. Also, I forget which bar was which once they get small.

Would it be possible to make nutella soap

While I haven't tried any FO's from this company, there is a Vanilla Hazelnut Mocha fragrance that might be close. If interested, contact them and ask how close it is to Nutella. Here's the link: http://www.candlemaking.com/vanilla-hazelnut-mocha.html Their email address: [email protected]

TVivian, Thanks so much for sharing the results of your soaping coconut FO's. I appreciate you taking the time to do this and sharing the results along with the pictures. Fascinating to see how much they discolor! If you're thinking of doing yet another batch, I can recommend Sweetcakes'...

How to replicate this particular soap's style?

They're both stunning looking! The leaves in the top soap are colored with mica so the colors won't run.

    what make it good?

SFIC and Stephenson's bases are both equally good. Stephenson's has just introduced a new base that contains argan oil!

Rooibos Tea and Pink Kaolin Shampoo Bar Recipe

I use both terms as some perceive hand-milled to mean soap base that is ready made via hot or cold process. Technically, it's a rebatch base which may be in log form or already grated. Soap crafter Marie Browning uses the term hand-milled in her books.
