    glycerin coated melt and pur

Instead of a paper towel, try drying each bar with a 100% white cotton t-shirt or pillowcase because fabric is gentler on the soap than a towel. Then shrink wrap right away and store in a cool, dry place. Hope this helps!

    Favorite M&P bases

Both Stephenson & SFIC are great bases. I've recently tried the Stephenson base with argan oil.

    Use crockpot to melt M&P?

It's nice for melting large amounts of soap. That's a great idea about preheating it the night before. Also, a ladle is very helpful when it comes to pouring the melted soap.

    Soap cupcakes

With the right mold it's just a question of doing a double pour with two different colors. Here's a link to the mold I used: http://www.flexiblemolds.com/Cupcake%20Soap%20&%20Candle%20Molds.htm Hope this helps!

    Chocolate in Melt and Pour?

AnastaisaAlex, Yes, you can add cocoa powder to M&P but it can stain your white washcloths and too much creates brown suds. I prefer adding 1 or 2 teaspoons of a good quality chocolate [70% cacao] per pound of melt & pour soap base. Like cocoa butter, it creates a richer lather. Hope this...

    Color blocks m&p

triplemom, I'd recommend non-bleeding, if possible. By the way, here's a wonderful article about non-bleeding colors from the Brambleberry site. There are examples of what a bleeding [or migrating] color will do. Photos of each color are also included. Here's the link...

    Color blocks m&p

I know how you feel as I was once new to M&P. Here's how to make your own mica color block. I call it a color chip. Melt 2 ounces of clear melt and pour soap base. Add 1 Tablespoon of mica and mix well. Pour into a small plastic or silicone mold and allow to harden. You can either keep it...

Homebrew M&P with Rose Gold Mica

topofmurrayhill, Love that color soap. The good news about adding EO's to M&P is that the aroma will last for quite a long time. I've used may chang [litsea cubeba] as an anchor for citrus EO's and that helps even more.

novice to melt & pour Mother's Day gift

WildIris, You can buy a melt and pour soap base with shea butter, cocoa butter or hemp seed oil already added. Those 3 oils/butters are usually good for all skin types. Evening Primrose oil or rosehip seed oil is nice for mature skin types. If you make a few bars of soap, you can add about 1/2...

French Macarons [Pink Lemonade & Lemon Buttercream]

I've now made French Vanilla Bean Macarons. This time I used metric measurements so my soap scale came in handy! Here's a link to the recipe and a few photos. https://lisamaliga.wordpress.com/2016/03/19/french-macaron-baking-adventures-part-6-vanilla-bean-macarons/ Here's what some of the...

    Favorite Melt and Pour

I like clear and white the best. I can always add goat's milk, shea butter or lots of other butters, oils, colorants, herbs & EO's/FO's.

    Matcha Powder

Welcome Val! Yes, I've added matcha powder to clear base. It stays green for a few days and then turns brown. Wonderful additive, tho'. Happy Soaping! Lisa

    M&p preference

Powdered goat's milk is a wonderful additive. You can sprinkle it in when the soap's half melted -- about 1 teaspoon per pound. You'll love the creamy lather! :)

French Macarons [Pink Lemonade & Lemon Buttercream]

I've been on a macaron baking bender since early January. I'm in search of the perfect macaron in both looks and taste. There's now a page on my blog dedicated to French Macaron Baking Adventures. Since the recipe's somewhat involved, I'm posting the direct link to it here...

    M&p preference

Have you tried SFIC? I've used them as much as Stephenson and I really like the bases. They melt very well. Here's their ingredient list: http://www.sficcorp.com/images/7a3d989522e514db60bc75023d0a3fab.pdf Brambleberry [BB] carries the SFIC bases.
