The birth and death of the Goliath egg...

What a whopper.. I would have named it "Bertha" lol That's so cool you have hens. I live in the city limits and we can't have chickens here.

    Argh!!!!

I would be the sarcastic ass that says "it's been working just fine for me all day..."

Embed advice needed for melt and pour. :)

what I would do is pour a very thin layer of clear (if you have some... that always helps) and put the mustache in the clear and let that harden to keep it in place and then pour the white over that.

    LLC or Sole Proprietorship

Completely agree. I wouldn't discount the insurance in any way, you don't want to be caught off guard should the unlikely happen.

How big are your CP Soaps?

Before... after cure they end up being between 6 and 8 oz. still pretty chunky though so I'm looking forward to a 1" slicer.

    LLC or Sole Proprietorship

It's true that personal injury lawsuits against a business is hard to prove, especially when so many environmental factors could affect the "outcome" of whatever harmed the consumer. It's very hard to prove personal injuries in bath & body products unless they get your product tested and see you...

How big are your CP Soaps?

    My mold specs are: 11"L X 3 1/4"W X 2 3/4"D but I usually mound on the top, so I sometimes get 3 1/4" x 3" and I cut mine at 1 1/4 in. so my bars are anywhere between 7 and 9 oz.

    LLC or Sole Proprietorship

Nope you're right... I'm just a DBA but my business name is my name. I knew about the online selling, and that's a helpful tool if that's all you plan on doing. The reason I got the license is so I can get a taxation ID for my events since I have signed up for quite a few this year. I haven't...

Our first craft show within two weeks

The tent is reasonable, however I think they have ones considerably less expensive at Walmart. You can usually buy online and have it shipped to a local Walmart for free if they don't have the one you're looking for in stock at your store. Don't forget a guestbook/email list for potential...

    LLC or Sole Proprietorship

Right now I have a Sole Proprietorship... I chose this because in our state, if you register your business as a SP and you own a home-based business and earn less than $26,400 a year you can earn an exemption from the state for your state licensing fees. This just seemed to fit my business...

Which is more popular FO or EO?

I personally use both. I use citrus EO because they're better smelling (to me) and I use FO for the wide variety. I just like good smelling stuff, hence my business name "Smellicious Soaps" lol

    Weekend soaps!

The swirl on that first is gorgeous.. in the middle and on top. The Buttercream Snickerdoodle one sounds delish (if it's from BB I know it smells really good) and looks awesome with the two toned and textured top. Yummy!

First Cold Process - Troubleshooting help?

In my experience you soaped at a pretty hot temperature. I soap at room temp, but that's not for everyone. I know that the majority of those I know who soap warmer than I do soap around 110 ish. I would assume this is why your soap gelled. This is just a blind guess from your info, I hope this...

    My soaping lair

very few homes in our area have basements.. we live in a desert and get flash floods. I wish I had a basement area for soaping in or any type of room with a door... a room all for me and my soaps. Actually.. why stop there, why not just a house or building all for me. Yes, this is my dream... lol
