    where to buy palm oil?

There is a restaurant supply store (bulk foods and other items) here in town that carries a 50 lb block of Palm Shortening. It works great!

    Amount of FO

Here are a few of the suppliers that I've used that I like: Bramble Berry Nature's Garden Pure Fragrance Oils Peak there are more out there, and some of them are not so good for using in CP soaps (because they cut the fragrance with a carrier oil that does not react well in saponification) but...

    Basic list?

A starter kit is the definitely the way to go. From there you can decide what direction you want to head with your MP. I do also recommend watching some of Anne-Marie's tutorials, she's a good teacher. YouTube.com/SoapQueenTV

Why Icing Sugar for Bath Bomb Frosting???

The simple answer is... it's easier. The CP would have to wait to cure. You could get a frosting shaped mold for your MP and do it that way. I'm of the mind that the bath bombs powdery consistency, nothing will really stick to it all that well. With the royal icing, the idea of it is just for...

    Coconut OIl

I recommend Soaper's Choice for bulk oils, they have competitive prices and quality product. As for which one to use, mostly that's a matter of opinion. Fractionated Coconut oil has the lauric acid removed to help prevent rancidity. The 92 and 72 just represent at which temperature the oil turns...

A dog Ate the Soap...Oh No!

Dogs eat the strangest things! I have a little guy, a papillion, and while I don't think he's eaten any soap (I clean up my bars in the living room and frequently get scraps on the carpet, I've never noticed him eating them but he could have, they were there lol) he has gotten a hold of my e-cig...

    Thermal Transfer Method Failure!

Hmm... that's weird. I just tried it today and it worked like a dream. I have zero helpful input, I don't use even half of your oils in my recipe so I couldn't tell you anything about what could have gone wrong with them. My recipe was: Extra Virgin Olive Oil 40.9% Palm Oil 31.8% Coconut Oil 76...

    Coconut Milk soap fail

My coconut soap did the same thing, but my ring is white and the rest of the soap is cream color lol. It's just partial gel, no big deal. Next time I'll put my soap in the freezer to avoid this.

How do you use powdered milks?

I mix the powders into my oils before I add my lye. I blend them in with my stick blender and make sure they're well incorporated. I only use goat's milk and buttermilk (also some Kaolin Clay). I used to use coconut water and mix them up with that beforehand, but you have to keep that in the...

    Goat's milk Fresh vs. powdered

I use powdered for several reasons. 1) It's not going to go bad and you don't need much space for storage (ie. no refrigeration needed although I know some people don't bother if they're using it for soap which skeeves me out a bit). 2) It's quite easy to incorporate into your soaps and you...

    Soap and Fragrances

depends on what I'm going for in that batch of soap and also depends on the fragrance. If I'm looking for a lighter fragranced soap or if the FO/EO I'm using is pretty strong I use 1/2 oz ppo, if the fragrance is lighter or I'm looking for a moderately fragranced batch, I use 1 oz ppo. I haven't...
